Exactly as Ash said. High school is just 3 years. Even if they play vb after graduating, they won't necessarily be on the same team (they're rivals after all). Improving separately ensures they're not too reliant on each other on the court. That's exactly why I agree more with Hinata's "greed" for improvement. That said, Kageyama isn't wrong either. Learning the basics (recieving, blocking, serving etc) is essential.

As a volleyball players I can say that in real life situations Kageyama pov is makes more sense. Yes Hinata want to improve but the priority of what he's gonna improve is all over the place. It's wrong to say that learning basic is just as important. Is should be learning and improving basic is the MOST important. *SPOILERS*............. Hinata is a great scorer, but in S4 is when Hinata is slap by reality that he is suck as a player.

@@mirza5422 I get what you're saying, sorry if I worded it wrong. Sarah Pavan (she's an olympian reacting to haikyuu) said the same thing too. But to be fair, like you said *SPOILERS* Hinata later deals with the consequences of his lack of basic training, plus.... HUGE *SPOILERS* if you didn't read/finish the manga He later sees what he's doing wrong, hence the whole beach volleyball arc. He does suffer a bit from "main character luck" in the sense that his lack of basic skills didn't really come back to bite him harshly, but you could say it’s also because he's stubbornly resilient and hardworking (altho his efforts can be in the wrong place) and creates opportunities where there's usually none

Oh now that most of the team started growing, we only have Tsukki left. Can't wait for the following episodes.

Kageyama was not completely wrong last episode. And he was still pushing Hinata to be better but instead of working at freak quick attack he wanted Hinata to work on being an all round player because as of now Hinata can't properly serve, block or receive & the spring tournament prelims are next month. Kageyama's growth curve is astounding as shown by how he asked Oikawa for advice. Last episode too he showed his growth as a team player when he told hinata that his selfishness( rapid urgency and focusing only on improving freak quick) will destroy team's dynamic. I think in real life, Kageyama pov is correct. Hinata needs to learn the fundamentals of volleyball in order to achieve his dream of staying on the court longest. Because right now Kageyama is the only reason he's allowed to play( as Kageyama literally puts the ball in his hands to spike ) and the freak quick is his only contribution to the team. If that stops working an all rounder player will be much better as a regular on the team.

People don't understand that kageyama has in mind that they only have 1 month before the tournament. It's one of his main points as to why he wouldn't help hinata last episode. They're both correct and wrong at thesame time but it's just that kageyama doesn't believe hinata can learn how to do it within the month they have. And because learning something new to get better means you have to get worse first if hinata is in his development and is worse while the tournament starts then itll be horrible for the team
