Idk why Hinata is surprised tbh he's trash at receiving and many other core components of volleyball so obviously they wouldn't be choosing him, compared to somebody like Kageyama who has high talent and can receive, spike, serve, block, etc. all at an above average level😂

Felt really bad for hinata here and also his character development was started soo late they should have atleast made him good at recieving and serving by now but all 3 seasons they simply focused on his spiking and made dirty i know he will be untouchable at the end of the manga but mostly anime will not do another season so we will not get to see that

because in reality you can't improved receiving and serving in small amount of time, it takes years to do that and hinata from the start focuses most of his time in spiking & jumping so of course he's below average if you compared him to others who have years of training in those field🤷‍♀️

really? i mean that's your opinion so i respect it but for me i think the pacing was great. you really get to see hinata's growth. from wanting to be an ace (including the fact that he wants to spike all the time) > learning to accept the decoy role > learning to fight independently... i can go on but yeah you get it. i mean i do get the fact that its slow but its realistic and that's what made it even more awesome because in reality, no one improves overnight, no one gets rewarded so easily, they need to work hard for it. i think there's a lot of lesson if you learn to understand this show and not just watch. considering the fact that hinata never got the chance to have a team back in middle school so he's really inexperienced and he was already a starter, without proper amount of practice (way before joining karasuno). what i love about haikyuu is that you really get to see their development especially hinata, also his mindset. its slow pacing in a way that is so relating to real life. remember that hinata wanted to spike and spike so it never comes across his mind to see a real volleyball match, and now in season 4 he's slowly opening his eyes, which i think is the perfect timing.
