I usually create Book song lists from the songs which the characters come across in a book. Now I am reeding Slaughterhouse 5 and I have been looking for this song for hours. Searched the simiral words in the lyrics of the opera, and couldn't find anything. Even I watched a Pirates of Pezans play on KZbin. Now It is a relief that you have mentioned Slaughterhouse 5 in the info of this song. Althought It was a time loose for reading the book, I thing Kurt Vonnegut recieved the aim on my suffering to reach that song. The aim of making a person think about Pirates of Pezance and WWII at the same time.

Thank you for posting this version. I don't like the negative version of the song, but I love this version! I also love the clean, family-friendly, old-time imagery. Thank you, Dan!

We'll find the Flying Rock! When we’re on a quest, we'll never stop to rest 'til... We find the Flying Rock! Up on top of Stonestep Hill! We’ll make the rock take flight. When we say the spell... Spell! We will laugh and yell! Yell! We’ll watch it fly all night. When we say the spell like this... Float, flutter, fly! Float, flutter, fly! Oh rock, oh rock on hilltop high, float, flutter, fly! Float, flutter, fly! Float, flutter, fly! Oh rock, oh rock on hilltop high, float, flutter, fly! We’re such a questing team! None of us are slowpokes! And we tell the best jokes! We’ve got a questing dream! All the way to Stonestep Hill! All the way to Stonestep Hill! All the way to Stonestep Hill!

"When the verdicts of guilty were announced, the courtroom erupted in cheers, as did the crowd outside. A band, there to play for a show of Ford Motor Company cars outside, began playing Hail, Hail the Gang's All Here and There'll be a Hot Time in the Old Town Tonight." This is the song they sang after the first two of the 9 "scottsboro boys" were convicted of rape in alabama.

Man its so depressing to recall all the horrid hate crimes committed all over usa and especially in the uber racist south. So few ppl have any clue of all the struggles and sacrifices made by civil rights leaders and members. MLK paid with his life as did many others....even musicians like j. Hendrix were monitored by fbi just for supporting civil rights. And in my opinion some of the more radical yet sadly legitimate sectors of usa gov. Assassinated all these revolutionary civil rights leaders. Nothing is more threatening to this gov. than peace. Their economy and power is based 1st and foremost in military industrial complex. No war=no usa profits. This is why they keep us at war and silence our most beloved leaders and artists. The truth is their enemy. Speak truth now, and 4ever.

I see where it states "song is referenced in Slaughterhouse-Five and is wrongly (intentionally?) attributed to Pirates of Penzance, where the music originated from (but not the lyrics)." But i want to clarify this is a ally force song they sang during war time? Or axis?
