Michael Critchosin Right! I still remember the 1st time i saw Sister Act. My initial reaction was oh no, i cant believe they are blaspheming this hymn, but i quickly realized how they brilliantly captured the joy of the Blessed Mother. I wonder if anyone was converted to Catholicism after hearing this rendition?

The choir is awesome. However, as long term singer in groups like this.. the conductor sucked. He delayed what shouldn't have been delayed and rushed what shouldn't have been rushed. I sincerely hope he was church or, I guess high school. But our conductor took us to carnegie hall.. The singers are on that level.

Well, in 2018 he brought us tio Lincoln Center New York where we sang in front of 2.800 people. ;-)

Gar nicht so einfach. Singen und dann gleichzeitig schauen, was man danach bestellt.

The harmony was good, but overall performance made me... less than happy. You shouldn't need scripts to know the words to this song so the performers shouldn't have had those books in their face. Everyone's face was wooden. Nobody moved. The point of the Sister Act arrangement isn't just to slightly enliven what some might consider a depressingly dull song, it's to inject life into the singers. This is partly why the choir claps. The conductor can't just usurp a song without understanding the purpose behind its arrangement. I really wish I could have enjoyed this video. Even the cherubim/seraphims seemed to lack energy in execution. I was especially disappointed not to hear the last explosive "regina" which is the most inciting part of the whole arrangment. Egg

That's what we are thinking about this today, you are absolutely right! But it's many years old so we are doing some better stuff now, watch some of our latest videos... ;-)

You all took open vowels to the extreme. Bad enough most of the choir members look totally disinterested.
