Donovan is the best singer in the genre. Not only in the genre, maybe one of the bests in general.

Damn I remember watching this live when it aired, super dope to see it up on YT and relive some memories

I’m floored by Donavan’s vocals! His voice has matured so incredibly. I had to pause and rewind when I heard him hit that note at 36:16 so gracefully.

I love it when Donovan gets behind the drums! I wish he did more of it during shows

this was the orignal HTS. but he got more time behind the mic. nobody can out drum and outsing him other than thomas erak
@wsliv46113 жыл бұрын
I can't imagine being able to hit those licks and sing that well simultaneously. All this taking place while some of the BUSIEST instrumentals of all time are flying around your head at 120BPM

yea. its awesome since he follows donavan alot.
@nicholaslaport33543 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think the complex drum lines were affecting Donovan's vocal performances. His decision to bring in the live drummer improved his vocals ten fold; also, the studio drums are still his lines so it's a win-win.

Just saw them a couple of weeks ago on the New Age Filth tour, and HOLY SHIT. Donovan was spot on. The whole band was 300% better than this set. So damn good. (I still enjoy this set, but alas)
@chrisroarty65912 жыл бұрын
It's probably because everything's down a step now and he's not smashing drums and singing at the same time!
@nen.user.37642 жыл бұрын
There might be a slight chance of them using melodyne or some sort of autotune on his voice here. Ive seen these guys live and super fucking tight but im also an audio engineer and it sounds like theres a few artifacts here and there. Im not hatin, just saying. But its a little safety net for their performance and art .
@acidwayne69282 жыл бұрын
Oh for sure I'm in a band myself (bayvell) and we use stuff like that as well it's just normal thing in the music industry

I love this band, But I wish they wouldn’t have used Auto tune on Donovan’s vocals, on Relax/Divide you can sadly hear a couple of spots where the tune fucks up and sounds like a muble rapper (the best I can describe that overtuned pitch shifting)
