I remember in 2012, my now husband's band played a show with Hail The Sun at a grange hall in Chico,CA. with a band called Final Last Words (yes that was really their name lol). During their set, someone spilled their beer in the mosh/dance pit, so some dude broke into the janitor closet, grabbed the mop and bucket, and started mopping/dancing in the pit with everyone else just dancing around him. One of the best memories of my youth, loved this band ever since.

16:55 Man I love "Anti-Eulogy" and wish the way its played here was in the actual album. I adore how atmospheric the beginning is set up to be and how long it lingers. Completes the song better imo. Ik its like that for Donny to enter drums and to keep the crowd invested at the same time. Can't wait to see them next month for the Divine Inner Tension tour. "Chunker" live will be a fucking treat. Edit: Chunker AND "Maladapted". Maladapted is easily one of their best songs. this album's singles have just been on a clean streak lately

@Ant-gu6vz They are incredible, but only underrated because most people would rather hear 3-chord pop songs(nothing wrong with pop at all, by the way) than stuff that they can't dance to. The world is a large place. Not every kind of music is for everyone.

Having played drums myself, I always found it weird that he had to do both, so it's good to see that he can focus on vocals and being a frontman now
@Lukav2008 Жыл бұрын
I think it's needed nowadays. Towards the end of the set you can tell he's running out of steam, so to try and drum and sing for the whole set now most likely just isn't feasible. Still an outstanding performance, but it's good to see he's accepting his limitations and using his energy to keep up the vocals and performance up front. Perhaps in his younger days, and when HTS were probably only playing 25/30 minute sets it was fine, but the longer sets and age won't be any help!
@harpy2602 Жыл бұрын
I think "chose to" is more accurate. the band members were very goo friends. Donny wrote the lyrics and could play drums, so did both instead of bringing in a random 5th guy they didn't know/weren't as tight with. That's how I've always seen it
