Thank you! You’re the only tutorial that’s taught me how to start a new row above the previous one, I don’t know how to do that first stitch, but top right makes so much sense now.

This is a really good tutorial thank you! I am a beginner, so I started with mini kits but then I couldn't find a middle one, like this one and I got a big one, it just overwhelmed me 😢

I just wanted to say a huge thank you - I've never had anyone show me how to cross stitch so I was trying to figure it out through trail and error, but this really made the process clear and less overwhelming. I feel like finally this craft can be achievable lol. Thank you again for this!!

I use loop method for any number of threads - even if an uneven amount. The common misconception is that a person can't use the loop method if an uneven amount of threads but that is untrue. One can use the loop on any amount of threads. Come up from the back and back down on same hole. Leave a loop.

Like another viewer, it’s been many years since I made several cross stitch patterns, so this was a perfect refresher. years ago I used thin sewing thread (not DMC) to mark the vertical and horizontal center lines before counting from the project center to start the pattern crosses. Of course pull out the center line marking thread at end of the project.

Hi Hailey. Just found your video. I'm picking up cross stitching after many years. So, I've forgotten another. Your tutorial was so helpful. The way you instructed was clear and simplified. You are a great instructor. I've been a nursing teacher for years so I think I'm pretty good at assessing how well someone else can teach. Great job.

Cute pattern you designed. Very clear and thorough tutorial. I would just make sure the person reads over the chart before starting.

Wonderful tutorial! I’ll be sure to direct friends that want to try out Xstitch to watch this video. Thank you! PS: Perhaps it was mentioned and I missed it, … when the thread starts to twist within itself it helps to let the threaded needle dangle for a second so it can untwist itself which in turn prevent knots.

Hello, My name is Brian and awhile back I purchased the Janlynn Mini lighthouse Counted Cross Stitch form eBay with the intention of putting into a nautical or Cape Cod inspired frame and I was thinking of dying the fabric to a blue color so that the design of the lighthouse looks like it is floating into the background But I’m not sure what dye to you or what color were the best work so if you can give me some recommendations on what color of dye to use that is a sky blue color and what brand of dye to use and how to dye fabric I would really appreciate it and also if you could help me find a nautical or Cape Cod inspired frame as well to fit the piece I would appreciate it the finished measurement of the piece are (2.5" ROUND) so I would need a frame that fits the finished piece and also the kit came with 18-count Aida fabric and if I don’t happen to dye the piece of fabric I would like some recommendations of fabrics that would work well with the design of the lighthouse so that the lighthouse is floating in the water and I am a beginner and only 14 count fabric but if you recommend me using 18-count Aida fabric Rather than 14 count since it will look better then I will use it but I much rather use 14 count since I’m a beginner so if you can help me find everything I need before I start my project I would appreciate it and if you can give me some tips and tricks on how to start this project or any project for beginners I would appreciate it Thanks 🙏
@HaileyStitches2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t dyed fabric before so I won’t be much help. I know there’s lots of tutorials on dying fabric here on KZbin! You could also purchase fabric that is the color you want. 14 count is a great option if you’re a beginner!

Thanks for this video! I’m getting ready to start my first cross stitch project. I am curious on your thoughts of the Charles Craft DMC vs. the Wichelt? Is the Wichelt worth the price difference to you?
@HaileyStitches3 жыл бұрын
Yay! Personally I can’t tell a huge difference! Wichelt is a bit more stiff, which is nice if you’re not going to use a hoop, but I don’t really think it’s worth the price difference. I only buy Wichelt when it’s all that’s available when I’m shopping at certain stores online. I think Charles Craft and Wichelt have very comparable Aida fabric!
