My son's partner bought a car that was caught in a hailstorm out west for a great price as it was replaced by insurance. It still worked fine and she called it "dimples".

Yeah Airdrie barely got anything. Some loud thunder and lighting and some rain. Power flicked a few times, power went off once, but nothing as bad as some parts of Calgary got or airport.

It is common in Calgary in summer , always thunderstorms and hailstorm , and then snowstorm in winter . This is Calgary

A lot of the hail damage in cars can be brought out by heating the steel rapidly to cause it to expand. I'd be more concerned about damage to roofs and sidings as finding reliable contractors are a lot more difficult than finding dependable body shops.

The big hail stones can hit hard enough to cause dents in the hoods and roofs. Also can break windows if they land at the right angles.
