any interviewer that manages to keep Danielle this engaged in the conversation is awesome

Perhaps it is because the interviewer is asking mature questions about their art instead of stupid dumb questions that they think the fans want to know the answers to!!!

I am halfway through the video, and Este hasn't spoken yet but I've lost count of how many times Danielle has spoken. I think I'm in a parallel universe?

I think danielle is the one when it comes down to the songwriting and how to adjust the songs and technical aspects. Alana is the funny little girl that loves to talk a LOT about the band and Este feels like the little puppet master that keeps the band going and looks out for her little sisters :D its fun to watch and they dont even play a role...they are just them selves
@pancreas077 жыл бұрын
This is SUCH an excellent interview. The interviewer really knows her stuff and Danielle actually talks (she's been talking a lot lately!) because they're being asked interesting and engaging questions about their music for once. Great watch.

My two thoughts exactly. Very unusual for MTV to have such a knowledgable interviewer. I'm so glad Danielle spoke so much. Wouldn't have minded more Este and less Alana, though.

When it's about music, I notice she has something to say. When it's just fluff, she just listens.

If this is one of the new directions MTV News is heading, then Bravo. This is proper, legit music journalism. Gaby appears to have some decent cred, which is very refreshing to see on MTV. They were talking about music theory, for God sakes!!! And Gaby offered relevant contributions to that discussion! On MTV in 2017! I'm WAY out of MTV's current demo, but please do more of this, MTV. It's very good.

This was excellent! So tired of the typical interview script: Ask some trivial fan thing and let Alana and Este riff on it for 20 seconds before moving on. Here, finally, we get to hear Danielle speak cogently about how the writing process works (and how hard THEY work!) with a technical discussion of the way their harmonies are voiced and the influence of Este's ethnomusicology studies.
