The Ondes Martenot was one of the very first electronic instruments that was embraced by composers of orchestral music. Looking to expand its sonic range, Maurice Martenot developed a series of amps around the instrument, from a normal speaker, to tuned strings, a resonating gong to this strange box here. Manufactured by Rehdéko, a long defunct French high-end company, it uses seven brass strings attached to the speaker cone. This creates a rather lush and surprisingly dense reverb, with no feel of the "boingyness" of usual spring reverbs. As I am a fan of unusual speakers, see "Gong Amp" I made with AudioThing (www.audiothing.net/effects/go..., I could not resist its allure.

I know the father and son creators of these speakers (father Weber Rehde has unfortunately passed away) and you have the small model of these reverberant speakers.. they were sold in pairs to accompany the hifi speakers in their range and give a powerful effect. concert hall. they were limited in power and reverberation length by an electronic box

Yes! What a wild time it was. The gong, the harp, the springs. Really they were magical transformations to the simple tone world of the ondes. The fact you can now run a drum machine through this is superb. There’s so much to discover bringing these worlds together.

Hello @Hainbach, First of all, thanks for your content and its quality. How did you make the connection with Ondes Martenot ? The Martenot "diffuseurs" (sound difusors / amp) were from a different design from what I can tell. I own one of those spring speakers and I've read in French after some research that the Redheko speaker model you reviewed was originally specifically designed to accommodate small studio room design and, as @alainreimbolt581 wrote in his comment, in addition to a little controlling device that can adjust the reverberating time of the speaker, virtually extend room proportions, natural reverberation and stereo imaging. All the best, Val.
