I saw "Hair" in the theatre, in the spring of 79, I was 14. I love this movie! My favorite musical of all time. I became an instant fan of the 3 lead actors. Keeping an eye out and watching anything they were in starring in. Which ended up being a lot of great movies. I'd like to recommend 3 really good movies, all true stories starring the actors from "Hair". "The Onion Field"(1979). John Savage plays a Cop involved with a murdered police officer. A case that ended up being one of the longest Trials in California history. This film was also Ted Danson and James Woods first movie. James Woods got an Oscar nomination for it. "Prince of the City"(1981). Treat William plays a police officer who goes after corrupt cops. Known for being a very realistic and accurate telling of the true story. "Coal Miners Daughter"(1980). Beverly D'Angelo plays iconic-singer Patsy Cline.

One of my favorite musicals. I was in a stage production of Hair. The stage version is different than the movie version. If you ever get a chance to see the stage version of Hair..... go and see it. The stage version has nudity (depending on the theater).

thank you for doing this movie!! This is definitely one of my favorite musicals ever since I performed it in high school. I actually sang the "White Boys" song since I was one of the only black women in the theater department lol 🤣 I was also Abraham Lincoln in the "Abie Baby" scene. It wasn't in the movie but it's a hilarious song!!

Regarding the stunning Cheryl Barnes (Hud’s fiancee) and her stirring solo in the park with her child, according to Wikipedia: “Barnes auditioned for _Hair_ at an open casting call. She had no agent and was working as a chambermaid in a motel in Martha's Vineyard. Barnes' song in Hair, ‘Easy to Be Hard,’ was captured in one take, and this is the take seen in its entirety in the film. Her later scene in the desert outside the army base was filmed in Barstow, California, where she lived for a time after production.” I absolutely adore this part of the film!

Absolutely one of the best ever. I have been lucky to see it live with both Ted Neely ( Jesus) Carl Anderson (Judas) a couple of times. Ted was my favorite actor to play the part. Dennis DeYoung from Styx even played Pontius Pilate in one of the touring shows I saw. It was amazing! The songs are incredible.

JCS was the first Broadway show I saw (on tour in Chicago). My mom asked me what I wanted for my tenth birthday, and I wanted to see that, so the whole family got tickets. I had seen the movie on tv already and listened to the movie soundtrack tons of times by then. My sister and I would argue over who got to sing with Judas and who was stuck singing with Jesus.

Thanks, Kemi! 🌼 The great Milos Forman directed this one. I see you've also reacted to AMADEUS (1984) which he did. Others from him you might want to get around to someday include ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST (1975), RAGTIME (1981) one of my all-time favorites VALMONT (1989), THE PEOPLE VS. LARRY FLYNT (1996) and MAN ON THE MOON (1999).

Hair is my favorite musical. It's so fun to watch the play. In fact, the last time I saw it on stage, the cast got arrested for indecent exposure. Only stop on the tour. Wichita KS. Years ago. I need to see it again. And even though they twisted the ending, I still like this movie a lot. ETA: To clarify, 'twisted ending', in the play the movie was based on, Claude dies, not Berger. This is not the only liberty taken, just the biggestt.

1. This is the musical GOAT! Even better than "Grease" and "Tommy"😁 2. My High School drama class wanted to do this play but it was shot down and we had to go through the community players because of the content. I played George but didn't need that wig.🙄 3. I was in the US Navy and when I was in Singapore I snagged this soundtrack for only $4😎 4. Woof/Don Dacus was a bass player for the band "Chicago" from time to time. 5. Hud/Dorcey Wright had a very short role in "The Warriors". 6. Al Pacino is a lucky man. He gave Beverly D'Angelo twins.😍😍 7. This was Nell Carter's debut Hollywood gig. 8. The skinny guy/Sheldon with the oink toenails was Michael Jeter from "The Green Mile". He later died from AIDS😇 (Maybe that's why Percy kept calling him faggot) 9. Best song, "How can people be so heartless". Cheryl Barnes KILLS 10. Milos Forman directed this. He also directed "One Flew over the Cuckoos Nest" Copyright's a bitch man😭 11. GOOF: This was Vietnam era (before O'Commie) so any vehicle going on base required a driver's license, proof of insurgence and a military ID. Burger couldn't just drive in like he does. 12. Somebody would have noticed the George wasn't Claude. 13. The look on Claude's face. Being former/retired Military that would be the look on my face if I missed movement. 😱 14. George didn't last long (no training) Headstone says April. At least they got his name right. Favorite character: Jeanie😍😛

I rented this movie the summer that I was 18. I had registered for a history class on the 1960's and this was part of my "research" it really hit me what was at stake between the govt shipping men off to war and the hippies not having a problem with anyone. Im definitely not a bohemian at heart but George Berger just got to me.

My dad took my sister and me to see this on the big screen, but I don’t think he knew about the swearing and nudity, since I was just 13 and Sis was 15. We bought the record and nearly wore out the grooves that summer. My favorite numbers are Aquarius (love Twyla Tharp’s choreography!), Black Boys/White Boys (love the army guys singing!), Easy to be Hard (what an amazing voice she has!), and 3-5-0-0 (such a powerful message).

I absolutely love this movie! I love musicals and that's why I volunteer at the theater that the touring Broadway shows come to. The original musical on Broadway had several of the cast get naked on stage. It was quite controversial at the time. There were some songs from the this movie that were very popular and you heard them on the radio like Aquarius, Easy To Be Hard, Good Morning Starshine and Let The Sunshine In. This and Jesus Christ Superstar are my favorite Broadway musicals/movies from this time. You would probably love Jesus Christ Superstar. It's an amazing show!

I'm curios to see this reaction, but bear in mind that the movie has absolutely nothing to do with the show it should come from. Almost everything was changed, from the plot, to the many characters, from who sings what to the elimination of many numbers (and to the loss of meaning of many of the remaining ones, who simply don't belong anywhere in the new script). Most important, the charachter of Claude has nothing at all of the original, and even the ending of the film is different from the show. It's a movie with the wrong title.
