We delve back into ancient times in this follow-up to its predecessor Ancient Civilizations of the Inner Sea? Does it hold up? Ante up? Burp up? Let's find out...

I was on the fence - then I watched your review, and the review at Discriminating Gamer, and...well - ordered. Very much looking forward to this one. Once again, appreciate the time and effort you put into your review. Good work...again.

Thank you! I'm glad it was useful. I definitely appreciate Discriminating Gamer (not just for the puns. ;) ), he's a great and thoughtful resource! Let me know what you think when you get a chance to play it. Always love to know such things. Take care!

Awesome end to the video, and you’re right: we love these games, but people are the treasure. As you were demonstrating I was definitely thinking about SmallWorld, which I really like. It’s not about the empire, but managing the chaos of a victory point tussle fought in a phone booth! Probably not something I’d play solo, but sure would be fun if we ever got a gaming group going again. Thanks for the review!

Heya! Thanks, man. Yeah, like that they took the time to do credits at the back, a nice reminder of having perspective in life. Solo is different. The NPCs follow a smart pattern, so they're pretty good as far as it goes, but humans kinda make the optimal participants here. I'll still play it solo (more than Inner Sea now, I suspect), but will gladly play it with others. NPCs don't get looks of horror with Biblical Plague cards get played like humans can. ;) Take care!!

You dont suffer any disk removal when 2 to 1 disk remain.. First remove disk with one and Competition end.

I think the 'cylinder' in 40 Days is a white cylinder to mark the territory, not a disk. And it is removed after the action is carried out in any case.

You were really on fire in this review, enjoyed it a lot, even though I have no intention to buy this one (Inner Sea in the collection). As you said, multiplayer (with the right people) is a blast, solo is ok, but not great.
