I did 8+ hour hair color correction on Mia Stammer using Guy Tang #Mydentity #Big9 Cremé Lightener. I love the creamy consistency of the #Big9 and it lifts hair 9 levels. I added Olaplex to help protect her hair.

What, Are you kidding me?! Fixing a head of hair such as that in a matter of one appointment when it took possibly many appointments, possibly years to jack hair up like that in the first place and make it look that fabulous?! For the haters, getting on camera and exposing yourself and your work takes a lot of guts. Show and share the love! This is stunning. Thank you for your commitment and sharing with us Guy Tang!!!!!😘

Lilith Nox it does depend on other factors such as the hairs porosity and thickness and she does have extremely thick hair so that's most likely why. also does somewhat depend on what lightener is being used etc. i'm not a stylist but my sister is and i do a ton of research on this stuff and watch literally all of his videos loll
@ivyling6347

Generally speaking, 20 vol is used for people who have thinner/finer hair strands. 20 vol is enough to lift the hair to a light color without doing a ton of damage. If 40 vol was used on finer hair, it would cause overprocessing and breakage. People with thicker/coarse/very porous hair need 40 vol because 20 vol would not be enough to reach blonde. 20 vol for this type of hair would result in orange hair and wouldn't lift enough. It also depends on the lightener because some lighteners can't achieve a high lift even with a 40 vol developer, so brand does matter

Lilith Nox also not to mention that Olaplex dilutes the potency of a developer, thus you need to use a higher level developer to compensate.

I hate how everyone thinks if their hair is not borderline grey then its "brassy." To me brassy is when your hair is too coppery or golden but other people just think brassy is warmth. I think warmth can be beautiful and I think some people prefer it.

I agree, it comes down to people's skin tone and season, are they warm, cool, or neutral skin tone, and sometimes even hair doesn't match exactly to that. Some people can be neutral and pull of warm (golden) or cool (ash) like me and comes down to preference. I personally like both and find middle ground is best for me.

I love this shade of blonde. I see so many icy border line white hair that I really appreciate when someone can rock a warmer still beautiful blonde. Warmth sometimes gets a bad rep because so many people try to avoid it, but if it's done right it's gorgeous.

As well can't wait to see you in SanAntonio at Armstrong McCall's Worldfair in October.

For anyone who thinks Mia did her hair herself, it was actually done by another "professional." I've been watching her vlogs for years & she always goes to a salon to get it done. If you go on her main channel, she USED to do it herself but that was a LONG time ago & anything wrong with it now was not her! (:
@54pink
@54pink 7 жыл бұрын
reenx3 she might still have some left over dye in her hair from when she did it. If it was 4 5 or 6 years ago there's still gonna be some type of dye or bleach left over. It never goes away unless she cut it all off.
@reenx3
@reenx3 7 жыл бұрын
Yeah but she's been going to another person so that person should have been able to "fix" it like Guy did, but they didn't & her hair is naturally black so it's going to be difficult from the beginning. I'm just saying it wasn't her fault for all the brassiness & banding if she's been going to someone who should have been able to fix it like Guy did because a lot of people are blaming her when she thought she was already going to someone who could help her. Plus, her hair used to be up to her butt when she was doing her own hair & last year, her hair was about shoulder-length so I'm pretty sure all that she did before is gone & when she did it, it honestly looked better. It was only after she was going to someone else did it look bad lol I've been watching her forever.

Yes, like I said, she did a long time ago & she had teal hair she did herself too. She even had videos on it if you check out her channel, but that was years ago. For the past few years though, she has been going to another "professional" and other salons. So whatever her hair is now, is what those people did, not her. So even if whatever she did is still on her hair, the other professional/salon is responsible for her hair right NOW. I'm just saying it's not all her fault because everyone thinks she made that mess but she's been going to salons.

i'm not a hairstylist and even i can clearly tell that he did as much as he possibly could to fix her hair, he actually went above and beyond with correcting each section separately. good luck finding a hairstylist who's willing to do all of that work because you fuck up your own hair. yeah, he Could have made her hair platinum and cooler and lighter... if she wanted a bob and for a ton of her hair to break off. Guy is clearly a respectable artist and as a skilled hair stylist he knows you have to work with the hair you have and he did an absolutely amazing job at tackling this girls INSANE amounts of correction that were needed. so much respect for him and what he does 💕

He was right though. Because you may appear asian people will completely erase your whiteness and just judge you based on asian stereotypes despite you being mixed with white. It's a fucked up world but if you don't "look" white then you're automatically seen as just broadly asian. Race is a social construct so that's how that works
@fabulously695

Kayla Lawz yea but that’s not how it works, he/she is mixed race. They’re half white, half Asian. It would be inaccurate to call them Asian, it would also be inaccurate to call them white. It the same issue with black/white mixed people. They are usually seen as black, but that is inaccurate, they are both black and white. Same with me, I’m half europeon and half south east Asian, you cannot call me one or the other because it’s not true.

Kayla Lawz oh dear...... Race is NOT a social construct 😂 But I agree that most of the time, "whiteness" is erased but it's not always the fault of other people... Look at Obama, he used to be the "mixed race candidate" until he won, when people pushed the whole "first black president" thing. Its not necessarily good or bad, it just is.

Kayla Lawz Not so much of a social construct, it’s how the brain processes and requires a little work from the individual to use their analytical mind to not judge on skin color or appearance. Everyone is prone or guilty to this. If you see a white person in America you will assume they speak English but what if you met a German who speaks no English and then start talking to them in English? Is that not “stereotyping” or assuming? What if you are a Mexican and you start trashing talking in Spanish about the Asian lady in front you assuming she doesn’t understand you then suddenly she responds back in Spanish? I think all in all we shouldn’t get offended over things like this... knowing there are people who are going to not get it right, we should have some grace in that area. This goes for everyone.

I'm pretty sure she doesn't know what she's saying. I think by 'ashy' she means that she expected her hair to be lighter like a level 9 or 10. Because her hair is definitely a beautiful warm beige medium blonde.

Jeannette Abitante if I were to guess, high hundreds if not low thousands? I could be completely wrong, but he is very high in demand, and very good.

Jeannette Abitante a few hundred dollars depending on what he does, the length and thickness of your hair, and if he uses toner and other products. With his level of expertise I would guess $300/400 on the low end for short and easy color. Then going up from there. Just a guesstimate tho!

missdamzlroost I think waaaaay more. In the description it says it took 8 hours. That would mean $50 an hour, which seems way too low for guy tang. I paid over $300 for a balayage done by a professional and it looked horrible in comparison what guy does. I think he charges at least $1500-$2000. That would definetely be reasonable in my opinion because guy tang is one of the best in the world

I really don't get the whole race identity issue. It's either you are ashamed of your heritage by not being a stereotype, or you are ignorant and uncultured by not showing you embrace other cultures, and if you find a balance to satisfy people, you are appropriating another culture? People should just learn that you are a born onto one planet and you have a global heritage, and everyone should embrace that.
