I love the pillow in the background. I am a dog lover too. In fact, I have three small dogs. I would love a Dyson. I just now talked my husband into a vacuum after years. Im not sure I could talk him into the blow dryer with all the tools. My granddaughter was at my house the other night. She straightened my hair. I was amazed. Im on two day hair and it’s still straight. I also found out she’s taking cosmetology at school. She’s a freshman. I told her when she’s done with school she can never move away from me. My husband had an aunt that was a hairdresser, she has since passed. But we had free haircuts, how we wanted it, for years. It’s so nice when someone gets used to your hair and knows how to cut and style it. So if my granddaughter moves, I’m following her. Unless, she moves somewhere cold. Im staying in the south.

Justin, what do you think about the round brush dryers like Revlon One Step? I just cannot wield a brush and a dryer. I do have to partially dry my hair with a regular dryer first then use the brush dryer to shape but I’m always a bit confused as to which way to direct it. I have medium length hair. I’d love to see a video on using a brush dryer for volume. Thnx!
@justinhickox3 жыл бұрын
I think round brush dryers can work great. It just depends on which one you use as the actual brush part can make a huge difference. They're great for the exact situation you're talking about though!

@@justinhickox thank you. I've considered these brush dryers for the same reason. (And now I keep seeing L'ange hair tools in my Facebook feed! 🤦♀️😂 I usually end up letting my hair air dry, but that end up sort of straight at the root, wavy or curly elsewhere. Its definitely easier to use a straightener if I can dry with a round brush first.

@justinhickox3 жыл бұрын
You will definitely be able to purchase it separately. I’ve seen a couple fake ones on Amazon and I always say to be very careful of those. There is a lot of technology behind the scenes in how these dryers and tools work. In the past I’ve always found that if I tried a replica, I end up having to buy the real version because the replica didn’t really work. Then I’m out the cost of both. And, in case anybody else reads this and thinks that I’m just trying to sell a product, I have no affiliate links associated with anything that I recommended in this video. That’s just my honest opinion.

Is there anyway to change the direction of the hair that grows at the base of the neck? I'd love to have short hair but that area wants to grow straight up and not lay down.
@justinhickox3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately that tends to be much harder to do. There are ways in some cases of getting around it with short hair though. It usually ends up requiring some areas to be shaved with a straight razor which can work but also comes with other potential concerns of maintenance in that shaving. It’s super easy to do and it’s definitely something that I wouldn’t rule out but it’s also very dependent on the hair line and what you want to achieve.

Justin--i spent two years growing out my natural gray hair and I expected that my texture would change. I recently cut off several inches of the remaining dyed hair into an at the shoulders bob so I'm 100% natural now. My hair is wavy to curly but at this length I tend to wear it straight and try to avoid my flat iron to stave off yellowing. My issue has been unbelievable static in my hair. Like insane amounts of static. When my hair was long I would tame my fly aways with my flat iron on a low heat. With the static I have the flat iron just makes it worse. My hair being wavy is fine but I have lots of it, so oils can work against me too. Any suggestions? PS, I can't afford a Dyson anything. Thanks.

I never had a cowlick until recently - I think its showing up because I stopped using heat to dry my hair since the pandemic, so the natural hair growth pattern is starting to do her thing and boy is she a hot mess. Going heatless has allowed my hair to lean into its natural curl/wave, but the minute I use heat to dry, its completely gone. With fine thin delicate hair, I really don't want to return to heat, but this cowlick on the back of my head makes me look like I'm bald and or have horrendous bedhed or that I haven't washed my hair forever.
