I LOVE that we’re experiencing together! This is the length that a lot of us get “stuck” at and most of the Natural hair KZbinrs show styles that can contribute to growth BUT from a longer hair perspective. As a tribal hairstyle girlie, I would love to see you rock some mini twists with beads ☺️ when I do mine I leave them in for about 2 weeks while scalp oiling & moisturizing my hair every couple days. My hair has grown so much in twists. The beads are just a fun pop of color 😊

This is how all my styles turn out…when I do it. Everyone always thought I had a wig on til they got to know me and knew homey don’t play that. Since I’m going thru a rough time I’m doing my hair for the first time too. I’ve learned to plan and give it time to fall in recent years. Unfortunately it is so thin now I’m guessing bc of age, meds and me trying to learn this new natural hair. I wish I could show u😢 anyhooo I’m gonna try the finger coil and the miche wash and go to see if that’ll retain some length and get me on track🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

But I wanted to stop you when I saw that mousse smh. I only use that when I’m wearing twists as a style. The Doux is a better one for hold. It looks like my first perm rod set after my big chop. I ended up picking it out completely for a perfectly rounded 70s fro-tube top midi, bell bottoms, wedges, big shades and earrings. It was a much appreciated summer VIBE everywhere I went. That was the day I learned: it was no longer possible to have a bad hair day. I was saved.

I’m just now coming out of the awkward phase and it was a STRUGGLE so I felt this!! My go to was a wash and go and if I was going out, I would slick it back and slap a ponytail on it 🙃😂

It's so validating to see this! Thanks for sharing and being transparent. For years I have tried styles I see these yt girlie's do and it never comes out the same. It hit me that hair behaves differently at different lengths, even the exact same curl pattern acts different when the length is there to weight it down. We are at about the same length now that you have cut so we are truly in this together!!!❤

Listen. I have these same moments. I usually take a few hair clips on the sides and then mohawk it with lots of curls. Makes it work til I have time to repair.

We have the same length hair now and I do wet bantu knots when i want to do a mini afro or a curl pineapple. You can also do it on dry on stretched hair for a weighted curly look.

I can definitely understand the disappointment. I cut my hair and got a fade in 2022, 2023 ya girl was growing back, but it felt so awkward to me so I kept covering it with braids and now this year it’s to the length that I’ve been wanting and waiting for. I say all that to say, it’s gonna come and as much as I can say omg you got this, sometimes some things can be a little sucky, but it’s only temporary

I normally twist the section then Bantu knot the twist for more curl definition. Love your style it was a success to me it. It is giving full on curly fro

It looks good we have the same length of hair rn. Try using smaller sections to get you more curls I also big chopped my hair from hair bleach so we right here with it girl! Smaller sections is key!

I don’t think it was a fail! It was just about to be a hairstyle remix!! one of the things about shorter hair is that there are styles you can do with it that you can’t accomplish with longer hair!! slick those sides and pin them towards the crown and you would had a cutest faux Frohawk

My hair was super curly after applying a twisting cream on wet hair out so the next night I divided my hair off in big sections and put it in big chunky braids and took it down and it was stretched out a lot but still had the curl. You might want to try that next...

I can totally relate to this at this moment. I struggle to style my hair whenever I cut it off. I have had my bantu knot outs come out like this, so I have honestly put a pause on it. Other people think it's cute, but just like you I think it makes me look dated. Excited to see what changes you implement on the next one. I would've thrown it in a fro until I had time to restyle it.

Do chunky finger coils on wet hair and then separate them for the best most long lasting curls ever 😍 that got me through the awkward length phase. Just don’t leave the curls in too long, cuz your hair may wanna loc 😅🙃

What made you decide to use a foam instead of the Eva NYC cream you used the last time!? Something tells me that if you had used the cream it would have ate with no crumbs.
