I get stressed when any of my hair stylists talk to me, I like to go in and just sit there and soak it in, relax and enjoy it. But I notice they always looooove to talk and I get it they wanna give me a good experience and show that they’re nice so I come back to them but I just don’t like being bothered lol

Monique Alexis girl I get it. I’m actually a hairstylist and an introvert. I love talking to clients especially that I’ve known for a long time, but I cherish my quiet ones, because I can’t talk all day long even if I wanted to it just drains me. I swear I’m in the wrong industry.😂 It’s so easy to feel out a person I just go off their vibe and do what they want. It’s very obvious to me when someone wants to be quiet, however most hair stylists are like you described. I hate when people at the store talk to me. 😂 I guess you could say I only like genuine convos and not surface talk, I just can’t do it. So I would love you and I am you when the positions are switched.😊😊🙌

Quiet clients are my FAV! I’m more of an extroverted person and I love the social aspect of this industry a lot of the times, but getting to just chill and focus on the craft more often than not can be the best. No one should ever feel bad for not having anything to talk about. It’s fine!

I decided that I wasn’t getting my hair done in a salon till I was debt free. Started January and I will be done in 18 days. I cannot wait to get this head in a salon. I have thicc long hair and it now to my mid back and I have been having headaches from the weight. I have also been sacrificing using cheap shampoo so my hair is also a crazy texture. My hair has been my drive to pay off 20k lol.

So cool hearing someone recommending velcro rollers!! I' ve been using them forever but whenever I mention them to any hairdresser they look at me strangely.. as if... Velcros are only for grandmas or something. I am 38 and have fine hair and the only way to have volume is using a round brush + velcro rollers. Not one hairdresser yet hasnt done my hair the way i wanted them to 😒 . I basicly go to the salon when I need a cut. They use huge round brush which makes my hair completely straight.(and I have short hair so iz really doesnt look good... I have really long, REALLY thick hair and I haven't done much more than a trim in over 3 years. I have an appointment on Saturday and I am so excited! Right now, I have so much hair that I can't even do anything with it. It takes me over an hour to straighten my hair and sometimes 2+ hours to curl it. If I air dry my hair, it seriously takes 8-12 hours. I am ready to get some shape and movement and STYLE!

I'm not a stylist but really love the tips and advice you give. I can appreciate your feelings on the client you have that you won't color it because of the color and condition of their hair. I am guilty of using box dye but it was time for a change and doing the right thing with my hair. This past week I wanted to get it colored and highlighted.....problem being I wanted dark purple hair for so long that I resorted to using box dye, then it got to a point that it was dang near black. I stopped into the salon I go to and asked what day either one of the two ladies that worked there had an appointment open and that I wanted to go shorter and color my hair. Now I am not bragging but I have a ton of hair, not thick hair, just a lot of hair regardless of length and besides using box dye (which I know is bad) I take really good care of my hair. The salon owner said to me...."I know we can color this and throw in some highlights to break it up but it is going to take a few appointments to get where you want to be.....I refuse to bleach your hair and start from the beginning"....I can totally respect this and I am the one that got my hair this dark and it isn't going to happen overnight. My stylist ended up using a chocolate brown and I can't remember what level she used for the highlights. I love the way it turned out though, really pretty brown with more caramel highlights than blond. So glad I found your channel, you are amazing.

Yes haircuts are essential!!!❤❤❤ I keep my hair at just above nipple length. It's fine and straight. Lately I've been getting those concave framing layers. I don't like it getting too long cause it just doesn't suit my face shape. I think this length suits me and still looks professional especially with getting haircuts.

I have naturally curly thin fine hair..it obviously looks a lot thicker curly but as soon as i flat iron it it is bone thinn! In the black community length is everything so everytime I tell my mom ima cut my hair she breaks into a cold sweat and begs me not to cut my hair because its hard for black women to grow hair.. 😒 I'm showing my mom this video 😂

My hair is really thin/fine and my last (retired) hairdresser would "thin" it a tiny bit to give some volume from the shorter hairs. That makes the most difference for me, I've had a few other haircuts without that and even though they're the same cut it doesn't have the same look.

Brittney, I love your videos. I have very dry frizzy hair and have had my whole life. I've tried many shampoos and conditioners such as Redken color extend and Joico K-pak, but my favorites still remain drugstore products- ogx argan oil shampoo and conditioner, mystic divine nourishing hair masque from sally's..pantene smooth and sleek shampoo and conditioner. I've literally had way better luck with drugstore products, though I've tried more of them. What drugstore and high end shampoo and conditioner do you suggest? The redken and joico almost seemed to leave a greasy film over my hair.
