Early 70s were great. Old man now but will never forget the bomb run for the Barstow to Vegas race. 3000+ riders lined up! One day a neighbor came by my cabin in the So. Utah mountains and noticed some district 37 desert racing pictures on my garage wall. I ask him if he ever raced in the desert and he said a little bit. His name was Tom Smith and he won the Barstow to Vegas race in the early 70s. Small world!

Likewise I raced the B to V in early seventies on a DT1 Yamaha and a 100cc Hodaka. Those were the days of 3 inch suspensions and your ass knew it!
@gladegoodrich22973 жыл бұрын
Do you remember Jack Morgan? Not sure if he ever won a race overall but always finished in the top ten on a little Hodaka. I was in a club called the Brush Busters.
@vegasxrs94013 жыл бұрын
@@gladegoodrich2297 yes, he was the guy to beat in the 100cc class. I came up with a fool proof plan to always come in second. Just get on Jack’s rear fender and follow him across the finish so I lined up next to him on the start and we took off and stayed together until he shifted to 5th gear. He had a new factory 100cc five speed and my poor 90cc 4 speed couldn’t keep up. Those were the days!

I raced desert from 1972 to 1995 There's nothing on earth like being in a start with 400 other riders ready willing & able to use your body for traction, then seeing the finish line after a long day racing. I'd do it all over again

"I'd do it all over again" just made me so happy. I want to be able to look back and say the same thing. Been riding since I was 6, and it's been pretty rocky since my dad passed. I'm 35 with two young ones now, and I just want to get back at it with my little brother and show my kids what it's all about--fun with your family and friends.

well done in black and white. I started riding in the mid 1970's and my dream was always the Barstow to vegas race. It was epic. Here locally we have the StumpJumpers "Desert 100" that has a standing start for all competitors. The last race was 2019 with just shy of 1000 bikes starting all at the same time for the main event!

My dad raced B to V in the 70’s on a BSA 441 Victor. Mom and us kids were the pit crew. Used to go to the desert all the time. Last 30 years I’ve been on the east coast Racing In the trees. Maybe one day will get to go back to the desert. Thanks for the movie! J N was king. Dad still talks about how far out front he would be after the first fire bomb.

If you want to make money well then you need to get some cool merchandise to sell weather it be Hats, T shirts, Hoodie's, Key Chain's, Coffee Mugs etc. The only thing is you have the right catchy logo or name or phrase and then it's the fonts you use ( lettering ) then colors or coloring But if you look at the end of Danger Boy, Gypsy Tales, MotoCross Vault pod casts they all are reminding us to check out the new Merch!!!!!!
