The Aphogee 2 step is different from what you used. The 2 step is the one with the hard helmet head. They still sell that version cause that's the one I use. The one you tried is something new

Shontell Edwards they reformulated it. It's different. She is using the new one.
@tiffanymorris35207 жыл бұрын
Shontell Edwards you are right! That is a different product than the "helmet head" product (lol) she's featured on the Aphogee website and they mention that it's the strengthening treatment and not the heavy duty sticky icky 2 step treatment - which is awesome by the way I used it for the first time and breakage reduced by about 60-70% and curls snapped back to life after some heat damage love the Aphogee line! Hope this helps

As of when, check out their website, they did not state about it being reformulated. Where did you get that it was reformulated??

Hi! This is my first time watching you (also watched where you told us about the heat damage). I know you get tons of suggestions but from your video where you cut it because of the heat damage I am recovering from the exact same thing. I saw Jess (mahogany curls) state once in one of her wash n go vids that if you struggle to get your curls to pop to do more finger-combing. I noticed that you comb your hair A LOT lol (especially while it's wet). I have virtually stopped using a comb and the results are phenomenal! I mean I went from thinking I had wavy hair to seeing perfect curls! Just try it and see if that helps. Trust me I just cut off 20+ inches of heat damage!!! Good luck and I love your videos! I'm subscribing!💕

They sell both versions in the store. But tube version is listed as a strengthening treatment and bottle version is listed as a protein treatment. The tube version is a different formula and is not branded as a replacement. Could you reach out to apHogee for more information on the difference of the products?
@nightangel35787 жыл бұрын
Ohhhhhhhhh........ So they've changed the 1 and 2 step treatments. Okay. I used to use Aphogee when I first went natural (because my relaxed and transitioning hair LOVED it) and my natural hair rejected it SO BAD! I can't use it at all. This proves that no two heads are the same. Some people can tolerate the high levels of protein and some can't. Glad that your hair took it.

Cee Ivy this is the new formula so you don't have to sit under the dryer. Your hair also doesn't get rock hard. They still make the old formula.
@sincerelyabyl52877 жыл бұрын
There is two types of the two step treatments one is in gel form and the other is in liquid form. The gel form is more of a gentle protein treatment and the liquid is more intense. the gel form you do not need to let air dry but the liquid you do have to let it air dry or add heat to help it dry in your hair

What about doing the Green house effect? I went to the salon to get baylage done on my black hair and now I have bleach with heat damage. My hair is stringy at ends. I want my curls back and don't want to cut and lose length. I used the purple bottle and I am doing GHE right now which I hear is great for restoring hair
@bluephoenixwhiz4 жыл бұрын
@@guidedlovemeditation1024 I'm old school for some things. I learned very early that jheri Redding's natural protein has the same ingredients as soy sauce and the bottle even had instructions for adding it to tint, bleach and toners. Why not try soy sauce, let it air dry and then use a really good detangler like the one paul Mitchell's has or a moisturizer low in protein. Cause believe me soy sauce is a force not to underestimate.
@guidedlovemeditation10244 жыл бұрын
@@bluephoenixwhiz oh wow cool. I used some apple cider vinegar, some conditioner and water in a spray bottle and it helped to bring some of my curls back. Did the green house effect as well and my hair was very moisturized, I put my hair in box braids and when it dried I could see the ends spiral up. The next day I was happy. I am def never gonna bleach again and try to not blow dry for a yr. Soy sauce I gotta try that out when I dye roots black cover greys. I wouldn't mind since I have put rice water and sea moss gel in my hair a few days ago. Lol. I am gonna research on soy sauce and the benefits. Thanks for the tip.

How often would you recommend doing the 2 step system?
@ShadaJames7 жыл бұрын
Jennifer Claudio every 2 months
@nikovanegas27355 жыл бұрын
Depends on your hair type and which 2 step you decide to buy. If you are buying the original, I would use it every 6 weeks (depends on your lifestyle, like if you often use heat styling tools or you are more natural) if you are natural, I would use it every 2 months. With the new one ( the gel one) Well that one is gentle enough to use it every 2 weeks if you heat style often. If you are more natural, I would use it every month.

How often does a person with damage need to do this treatment?
@nikovanegas27355 жыл бұрын
Depends on the level of damage. What I recommend is the old fashioned 2 step protein treatment the one that makes the hair hard while you blow dry, this new one is not as strong from what I experienced. If you get the old one I would use it every 6 weeks and I would get the aphogee 2 minutes reconstructor (which is like a protein conditioner) to use weekly if you heat style often. If you use the new one that comes on a tube and is gel like, I might use it every to weeks or whenever you feel like your hair needs a pick me up.
