@@RedRyu10 unfortunately a lot of those weapon sets for the takara tomy kits have been discontinued. So they may be a bit expensive in the used market.

Nice review! Funny how the older Liger had independent claws. And yea... joint degradation is goddamn sad. I saw this kit for sale a few times but I held back on buying it because I felt that an old kit like that would have been bad to build due to the plastic already being old. Guess I avoided a holy hand grenade there. Side note, I was fully expecting the head to fly off during the shake test! Funny how it didn't.

the start is what happened to me alot to the point some parts broke completly i tried 2 blade liger AB, 1 blade liger mirage and the blade liger Blueray ( clear version) and ONLY the Blade liger blue ray was somewhat able to not break a single part during assembly. Edit: this caused me to AVOID the Shield Ligers and Blade ligers completly and i have been turning my friends away from building them unless they wanna feel Pain building it. the ONLY way i would build more blade ligers or shield ligers is if they change the leg pegs, there so small and easy to break, and they wear out the polycaps fast when posing multiple times instead of building and letting it sit without touching it, since the pegs grinds the polycaps clean making the legs no longer tightly hold on

No, because despite sharing the same name they are from different manufacturers. That blade liger you are talking about has a different motorized frame, I have a review of it on my channel.

@@vancyhobbiesThanks, I also went and watched the HMM Command Wolf video. I wanted to get myself Van's Liger and Irvine's CW as model kits in matching boxes (I keep those for show), but i'm sad to learn they'll both constantly fall apart and it'll get even worse in a few years :(

I glued the heck out of my HMM Blade Liger.I applied glue on everything that is not supposed to move.

Bought the knockout (Black Knight) version. Had a tough time assembling this guy. The front legs seems to always fallout from the body. The tail isn't bendable like the other ligers (panzer, zero, jager, schneider). Gold should be the right color instead of yellow.

Ya 3rd party kits usually have quality issues, especially when it's base off of an older design. And yes gold is the way to go!

A bit of clear nail polish put it on the joints allow it to dry and parts won't fall off as easily 😅

Yup that works also, I prefer spraying clear coat paint. So my fiance doesn't get mad at me for taking her nail polish 😆

No unfortunately, kotobukiya never improve the engineering for these kits.

5:35 Not going to superglue the arm to the body? I had such a hard time with the equivalent area on the DCS-J I resorted to supergluing them together.

I still plan on painting it, so anything that moves is not going to be glued for the time being. The small pieces, i splattered as much glue as possible.

@@vancyhobbies Also you can replace the polycaps in the shoulders with 0.17" inner diameter clear vinyl tubing. Since the male end is 5mm in diameter .017" is about .6 MM too small so they won't fit so cut once lengthwise so the male end can actually fit. It's not quite as snug as the polycaps when they are fresh but snug enough it won't grenade. I got some at Ace Hardware.

@@vancyhobbies BRUH HAHAHA,anyways i have a question,i found a local seller that sells an AB Bang completely sealed and unbuilt, the question is that does the Pegs would stay put or does it also suffers from plastic degregation even tho it's still unbuilt?

@@azander1958 joint degradation happens after it is put together. Overtime the polycaps and plastic connections start stretching when the pegs are attached. You can either glue lose pieces or spray some clear coat paint on the pieces after they get lose, this will solve a lot of issues.

I do wonder why polycaps are used. I'm new to the hobby, so I don't know how good polycaps are, but bandai's new WfM kits use no polycaps, and they are really solid. Even out of box WfM kits are much better than my new IBO kits.

Just old engineering, rubber polycaps were very popular in the early ages of model kits. Good thing is zoids has moved away from that and started using plastic on plastic joints as well. Just too bad they don't update old kits...

Will there be joint degradation on Zoids kits in 2023 and beyond?

So good news is recent zoids kits as of 2020 until now have constantly been improving their frame. No joint problems coming from the rev raptor, reddlers and konig wolves. The wild liger and fang tiger have lost a little tightness in their joints but it is not nearly as bad as the older zoids , they still hold up well enough to be played around with. Thiugh some reissues based on older designs such as the shield liger dsj will still have the same issues, because they are based off the older frame.

@@vancyhobbies oh COOL! Maybe anything after 2020 will be more likely to hold up better. We should watch out for re-ssuesi. Do you have any experience with Dibison, Gojulas, Gojulas Giga, Iron Kong, Storm Sworder, Godos, Panthers, Geno Saurers, and others?

@@hammertronactionfigures2426 Dibison holds up better than the ligers but is still lose. Iron kongs and gensaurer are a bit better. Haven't built the storm sworder yet so no comment there. The other kits you mentioned dont have an HMM variant and I dont have the takara tomy versions.
