18:52 Actually, kinky hair is the most fragile of all, because it's the thinnest! You may think it's thick because of the hair volume of curls and all, but the measurements prove it's the complete opposite! The stronger & thicker hair is the Asian one, European hair is in between.

That's exactly the coment i was searching for, i love Hair Budda's videos, but is the second time i saw him talk wrongly about afro hair. As a hair dresser myself, is a little sad that is a lack of education on afro hair types.
@MsElectricsurge2 жыл бұрын
I don’t have kinky hair but very curly hair and what you are correct. My hair has a LOT of volume but it’s comparatively thin. If I put it in a braid it’s maybe two fingers thick. When I was younger I didn’t know how to take proper care of my hair and hairdressers never knew how to handle it. I looked ridiculous because they never thought about the shrinkage… I am so grateful for black people sharing their knowledge online. Otherwise I would still be looking like tingle tangle bob.

I shaved my hair off nearly a year ago. It was so over processed, it was grim. The only thing that gave me the strength is that my dad died from lymphoma and there is a somewhat vague link between hair dye and lymphatic cancers, if you are prone to it. So yeah that scared me enough. But I've been dying my hair since 12 so it was such a part of who I was. A big gesture was needed to go natural and say goodbye to all this mayhem these women are doing in these videos. That was my life, and I loved it! It was one of the best things I've done. I learnt so much about myself from it. I think every woman should do it once in her life! But I'm glad it's slowly growing back too. I just use henna on it now, which is another deterrent to the temptation of dying/frying my hair. Love these videos hairbuddha I think you're amazing!

YES!! I don’t generally bleach my hair, I mean I have but only once and that was just to clear out years of old dye from coloring my roots, my hair all ended up so dark brown it almost looked black 😂 I’ve since learned to resist pulling the dye down the strands until the final 10 minutes or so, that way my strands don’t continue to build up a full dye each time I color my roots, but they still take on the tone and freshness of the new dye job! But even just coloring my grays takes far longer than in the salon because I’m trying to take the same steps my hairdresser would. Like making sure to make larger sections, and then paint the color on in even smaller sliver sections to be sure to saturate every strand at the root and then following up with a nice gloss treatment to seal it all in. It takes me forever to do - and I’ve been doing it myself for YEARS!! It can’t take a novice a shorter length of time than it does a pro, it just can’t. That’s a clear indication that you’re doing it wrong and you’re gonna end up with a botched job.

What everyone who wants to bleach or dye their hair is to have enough bleach or dye. For shoulder length hair use 3 or 4 boxes or packages of bleach or dye. Can't stress that enough.
@KimOfDrac3 жыл бұрын
When it comes to bleaching your hair, especially if you want to go platinum, do the first bleach of all your hair at a salon as an investment and then you only have to do the roots at home as maintenance :)
@jage52564 жыл бұрын
Don't let anyone who bleaches their skin (badly) do your relaxer. Her hair needs hit oils and conditioning packs. Then base your scalp with vaseline and never relax permed color hair. It will melt. If hair in good condition don't forget to neutralize with the neutralizer shampoo. Keep straighting until you neutralize and don't put the relaxer by the already colored part. Yikes! Thank u for the upload. Hope ppl listen.

Hair Buddha, I have permed hair and I followed your advise on treatment and conditioner. I don't know how to thank you. It's permed healthy and silky 🎉❤❤❤
I am actually quite skilled at bleachinf/coloring my own hair... and even I had a bleach fail!! Left the roots to grow out for 6mths...then decided I hated my hair dark!!! So I used an amazing bleach with 30 vol and Olaplex... but because I did foils on myself, I took WAY TOO LONG. The back was really overprocessed, and the one side more than the other. Than.,.for some UNKNOWN reason... I did a 2nd round of foils on my already breaking hair!! I wound up losing half my hair at least!! I have thin hair, but I am lucky the breakage was not too much on the front. I am trimming it each time I wash it, and using intensive treatments... Olaplex, Apoghee, and Schwarzkopf... It feels soft and hairlike again. I bleach the roots very carefully before they are more than half a inch, and only use Arctic Fox semiperm colors. Right now my hair is Galaxy blues and purples. I have done fantasy colors for over 5 Yes, and that is the ONLY time I ever did any damage like that.
