Exactly! When my mom let me do dying/bleaching at the age of 14 (after horrendous nagging on my part lol), she said fine but I don’t want to hear one single word about how much you hate it. Luckily I loved my blue black (mom hated it 😂) and kept it for a long time. Any time I decided to change it after that, I did my research. The only time I goofed up bad was when I got on the phone with my friend and ended up bleaching for 1 1/2 hrs 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ hair crispier than some well cooked fries 😂😂

@@TheThriftyGmaI hear ya. At my age now and my extremely poor health, I tend to cuss more than I used to. But when I go to family gatherings, my niece comes over, go out in public or I do a video/panel, I watch my mouth and I NEVER drop the F bomb. I don’t understand kids anymore. My sister had a bad mouth when she was younger, and I told her if she didn’t start watch what she was saying when we were out, I would never go out with her in public again. Needless to say after that, she started watching her mouth around me, but I can walk down the street and see 10yr olds with worse mouths that I get when I’m having an extremely bad day.

Today there's no excuse other than stubbornness. lol. I remember those days before the internet. Somehow, we survived and ended up doing some really unfortunate things to our hair. Tbh, I actually did my hair pretty well after the first couple of times. Had blonde hair for years before I had kids. Then the cost and keep up was too much and I went back to my natural hair color. I’ve been thinking about trying it again but since I know so much more about it, I’m ironically more afraid to do it.

I feel that, except with my blue eyes. People wear fashion contacts. Like they don't need contacts, but they wear them anyway, and a lot are done by cheap fly by night Chinese or other countries, and are dangerous, not FDA approved for the eye. I would never take a chance fucking with my eyes, just for a fashion color.

@@calliew311Yes! Me too, I have blue eyes, I'm very short-sighted so have been wearing contact lenses for over 35 years in order to correct my vision, not coloured ones, just clear corrective ones. The care I receive from my optician (check ups every year for the lense fit and my general eye health) are vital to ensure the health of my eyes. I am appalled that there are people willing to risk their eyes for the sake of temporarily changing the colour by buying unregulated lenses from unknown sources off the Internet. My mind boggles.

Years and years ago, when 16:35 alkaline perms were still a thing to have, my hair got damaged and broken off in some places. Stupidly I didn't believe the hairdresser that having permed my hair more than once will cause a lot of havoc. One of my colleagues at work suggested to cover my whole hair thoroughly with paraffin oil ( from the pharmacy) then cover my head with plastic bag and a towel for the night, then wash out the paraffin oil with egg yolks. After that wash my hair like normal with shampoo and conditioner. I did and it saved my hair! At first I thought nothing will remove that hardened mass of paraffin oil from my hair, but to my surprise the egg yolks worked like a miracle! Now, I don't know if this method would help the bleach damaged hair of these girls because I'm not a chemist. Maybe Hair Buddha could tell us if it could work or these alkaline perms in the past were causing a damage that is importantly different from the damage these new chemicals do.

In this day and age there is absolutely no excuse for this level of ignorance. There are video tutorials for everything created by experts in their fields. I really think that some of these people are actually trying to ruin their hair on purpose in the hopes of going viral for 5 minutes of social media "fame". The others are just idiots. I have liver disease & in may of 2021 I went into suddenly liver failure& almost didn't survive, the combo of that trauma & the liver disease in general caused my hair to fall out in clumps and handfuls. It was heartbreaking, I lost probably 75% of my hair, & I didn't have thick hair to begin with but it was healthy. It took 18 months for me to see any decent regrowth. I was embarrassed for even family to see me without one of the Wigs I purchased cheaply on Amazon. (I did get change my hair depending on my mood, so that was one plus of the Wigs 😂). My hair is still no where near how it was before, it probably never will be. So no, it's not just hair, and no it doesn't always just grow back. Thanks for another great video Hair Buddha, we appreciate what you suffer for our enjoyment.

I had the same mindset of 'it's already damaged so why not' (I'm a fake redhead who wanted smokey amethyst ends) but I was experimenting on my ends which I was planning to trim anyway (I've got decently long hair so I didn't feel that bad about destroying the ends). but at some point I thankfully changed my mind and followed proper procedures, gave my hair lots of breaks between those and good aftercare). my ends are still with me, surprisingly in a decent condition , and I did get it light and toned enough to get my semi-permanent smokey amethyst after a couple of months. but having that mindset while bleaching as much as the second girl did - oof, that was painful to watch and I'm not a hairdresser, I'm just a bored amateur. Bleaching sure isn't easy. I've had a salon mess it up. I asked for some golden highlights for the summer (I used to have gold blond hair but it darkened with age). The 1st salon did it perfectly, they even added a few copper highlights as well which looked amazing with my hair. The second salon bleached yellow highlights. Literally just bleach yellow, no toning. When I asked if that was supposed to look like that they assured me this (yellow) was the gold blond I had asked for. Needless to say that salon won't be touching my hair again.

I monitor my hair weekly for split ends, i had breakage and split ends going up 8 to 10 inches of my hair that took me two years to grow out on my own. i spend about $100 month on hair products to keepm y hair long and strong and the extent of damage is really sad my hair is fried to about an 1/8th of an inch from my scalp. I am very motivated to save up for my own cosmetology license after this experience.
