We work so similar and it's so refreshing to hear someone say how long they take, so many hairdressers are like 'oh I take 45min for a full head foils' In my opinion that cannot be as much work as what you of I put in x

I’m the same way! Takes me a couple hours to foil a full head! With a medium to fine density! Roughly 3/4 sometimes 5 hours to full foil a thick head! I’d rather take my time and get it done right, than rush and mess it up.
@rain3743
@rain3743 3 жыл бұрын
Detailed foiling takes time. It typically takes me 2.5 hours for a whole head just to get it foiled, If there's no subsections like that. Depends on the density. I don' think 5 hours is bad for that much work. I use Wella's "Service" after pulling foils as they're ready. I SPRITZ And remove with towel then put that product on. Even if the bleach isn't shampooed out, it stops the process, as it is acidic, AND, acts as an awesome detangler. I detangle gently with a wet brush. That backcombing comes right out.

@@hairbykristijennings6648 I just recently found you and I don't know how anyone could cut out on you early!! I watch the whole thing and pause and go back😂... My dad, gram and aunt were all hairdressers, 2 with their own shops. My dad had to learn color when he was a kid and his mom would dissappear and if the client didn't like it he'd have to fix it😅.... Anyways, my dad was super slow but he got a shop and everyone loved coming to work there, it was great like the movie Shampoo how I grew up....I could picture your future shop like that, I wish you the best!

You’re very welcome you are my favorite colorist. I’ve done hair for 30 years and I’m getting back into women’s hair after a 15 year break and you are amazing! I was retired for five years and I’ve done men’s hair for the past 10 years and I’m so excited to dive deep into women’s hair. I’m thrilled! I used to be a Wella colorist but the techniques back in the 90s were not what they are now. Thanks for the vids!! Btw ignore the people who complain about when you talk about money and how much you charge It’s always the people that charge less than complain about people like us that charge more. My cuts are not cheap but that’s the Client I get it doesn’t matter what I charge they will pay it.

I truly wish that I could be a client of yours. This is exactly what I’ve been looking to do but no one says that it’s possible. My hair is thicker than hers, but nearly the identical color. Your artistry vid beautiful and your technique is flawless. It turned out so amazing. I’d be honored to have my hair look like that. I wish that you were closer to me. In the summer, I’m in Buffalo NY and in winter, I’m in Phoenix AZ. One day I hope to have you do my hair so beautifully. I hope! 🤞🏻 Take care and thank you for explaining everything so thoroughly for us.

You can assess what the hair can take. Also, Olaplex DOES allow us to push things a bit. Sometimes it has to be overlapped. When I know I might have to I usually add on a Malibu C for blondes or a Crystal Gel to get that buildup out. Which adds more time and $$ to the service but really helps. Sometimes it brightens the existing highlights enough to be toned more evenly without needing to overlap. I think clients who expect that much icyness should realistically prepare to pay $400-$550.

Also are you doing some slices in there I noticed when you started on the side of her hair you took a section , sectioned off the bottom and took the top section to slice it ..also when your at the top pf the head I noticed you did two back to back slices as well just wanted to know what that is .is it take give her bigger pieces of blonde ?again thank you so much!

I love you're tutorials...I have been a hairdresser for 30 + years..one thing I would never ever..ever do is comb hair that still has bleach on it..dry or not.. Most definitely without question would snap and fray that hair..probly why you may have such a hard time with the combing out ..rince..and put a cuticle seal...actually why they developed a cuticle seal is because the cuticle is opened and vulnerable to breakage. Otherwise..amazing work.Thank you 🎉

I ussually brush the hair with redken 25 United it’s light weight and smells like roses . I use a wet brush but I brush the hair holding the brush vertical instead of horizontal. Thanks for the video I watched the whole thing !

We only get like 30 minutes for this kind of work at my salon. Insane!! I prefer doing my friend at home where I can take my time mostly about 1u30 min for foiling full head and I'm not ashamed how slow I am because the results after are stunning and worth my time. It's ridiculous we only get like 20 a 30 minutes to foil a full head. 😪😔 but your work is beyond stunning, so beautiful 🥰 tha k you for your tutorials

Love the video, still watching right now but I I usually put the foil on the board, which makes ita lot easier to use.

Yeah, A few people have mentioned that and I don't want to worry about the foil. Especially if the hair is longer and im sliding the board down the length of the hair, then I have to worry about the foil staying in place. Also I use framar pop up foils, not the big roll you can tear and do a bunch at once. It would be too time consuming to stack them on the board 1 at a time lol

Your so helpful. I’m trying to learn and teach myself how to do my own highlights bc I just can’t afford what I want as a poor art teacher lol I’m in my research phase . Instead of having to buy that huge bottle of oleplex 1 professional stuff. Can I use oleplex no 3 in my lightner. As a newbie w dark roots and grown out bleached highlights should I try using a 20 vol developer ?

Did you end up adding some lowlights? Right after you blew dry the hair you showed a close up of her hair and the demension was a level 7.5N. But after adding the curls it looked more smokey/ashy as if lowlights were added. It must have been the lighting.
