I’m not a hair dresser but lately I’ve had my hair so screwed up that I wanted some knowledge to at least be able to explain what I’m hoping to achieve. Also, I’d love to be able to touch up gray roots at home and refresh because the minute I see my “sparklers” I’m over it. Absolutely love this man and if he lived near me, he would be my bff

Sir if I had someone explain color on the level you just did 45 yrs ago, I would'nt have traded in my scissors for a very uneventful life behind a desk. But returning to industry to work as a stylist in a retirement community. Thank you so much for this really.

Unfortunately, beauty school only teaches the basic, there should be additional courses for coloring/color correction because so many horrible mistakes are committed in beauty salons that drive people to do it themselves. These videos are really great, THANK YOU very much for sharing your knowledge with "the world".

You make something that people are so fearful of (the color wheel) and you make it make sense. You are funny and you talk about your own accidents as a young hairdresser. You are brilliant keep doing what you are doing. Thank you so much!

I commend you - seriously I am over the top impressed with how you are reaching out and helping these up and coming stylists. So many of us complain about the schools and - lack of knowledge- USEABLE knowledge the new stylists are lacking when they begin- the same people not doing anything to fix the problem. But You are- Loved your class! I will recommend this to the newbies!

Hello Max, I’m in process to become a hairstylist and I have been having a hard time at school understanding the whole color topic but the way you explained it totally make sense to me, pretty much the color wheel gives us all the answers. I want to thank you so much because I finally understand the color wheel because of you. 🙏🏼

that thing that you are talking about...Highlight yellow, that happened to me in a Hairdresser shop. It seems most of the Saloons they don[e know how to work with Readhead. ( like natural blonde red..here you call ir strawberry blonde, I am one of that but level7 ) And I paid a FORTUNE for that I have to fix it myself at home. Because no one seems to know how to fix it. I think I used blue at that time.

I have a question, let's say I am level one and I want to get to level 7 I should apply orange to get lightest brown?
@BeautyHealthTravel5 жыл бұрын
You need to lighten your hair and tone it, if it has been previously colored. If your hair is virgin, you can apply level 12 Ash to have level 7 gold.

There are THREE LEVELS Transparency in HairColor - Opaque = complete coverage, Translucent = allows natural highs and lows to remain, Transparent = puts a tonal adjustment shade over the base color.
@justinw66099 жыл бұрын
I am so glad I learned color theory on my own, I will NEVER have to go to a salon. I will always stick with the color nature gave me which is a 7RC ( red copper) I am a natural redhead. When my hair changes color I will know how to dye it back. :) Save money doing it yourself, and also it's pretty much common sense. You just have to learn color theory on your own.

Not sure you will get this question, but how much corrective color would you put in a formula - ex: to get rid of red, how much green would you add?
@BeautyHealthTravel4 жыл бұрын
It all depends on the intensity of the red, more red - add more green, but also please consider the hair porosity, texture and the extend of damage.

what happens if you are a redhead. Trying to keep your original color. that would be a 73 or a 731,..( not US scale) But I want to go lighter..like and 83.1..but they do not have this in US. So would I apply blue or violet? I still want to be a redhead, but my natural color is nor RED or ORANGE. But the base of my hair is gonna be orange always..It is my natural color .. I'm having this problem only in US. In Argentina, they sell you 8.3.1...easy. Here is a nightmare !!
