I honestly don’t understand why ALL honey is immediately labeled as “not vegan”. I’m an aspiring bee farmer, and a lot of y’all don’t seem to understand that the only reason honey bees are even alive today is because of bee farms. The wild honey bee is almost completely extinct; the only reason it isn’t is because of farms. Ethical bee farms do not use smokers or sprays to farm. We use a bilateral semi-complete plastic comb structure that the bees then complete with their wax and fill with honey. When it’s time to harvest, we simply turn a lever to break the combs and allow the honey to trickle down. We turn the lever again, and the comb can be rebuilt by the bees. Though it’s true that a bee can only produce about 1/12th of a teaspoon of honey in its life, the bee will not even consume 1/4th of that amount. Many wild honey bee hives become so saturated with this extra honey that the hive drowns in its own honey. We do not take what they eat, we only take the excess.

The principle of being vegan is just to leave the animals aloOone. As simple as that! Because they're doing just fine without us humans interfering. Animals that can't live without human intervention have just been genetically modified by humans throughout the time in a way that was profitable just for us. I'm thinking about sheeps and the amount of wool they produce. They rely on humans now although they're supposed to loose their excess of wool once a year without any razor or anything. But veganism is also about helping animals suffering from the chaos humans created. In the case of bees, that would be to build hives to help them find a shelter and grow (as we know they are pretty vulnerable) and... that's it. The honey is theirs

I think it's fine if you didnt know it, but Brad is a businessman who has been in the industry for a long time, it is quite naive to think that he had no clue about this, as he has experience and advisors who SHOULD know this stuff. That said, I dont mean I think Brad is deliberately trying to fool people- he might be but there is no proof, and mistakes happen. Being a vegetarian isn't a sworn oath to keep animals alive, it's a dietary restriction that some people might need because of health conditions or allergies. Yes... sadly. I don’t know why. When there’s a bug in my house I always catch and release outside. However, I do not think honey is *inhumane*. I can't remember if it was the eyebrows or hair color or what but a lot of people also noticed and made videos on it. So the box dye one had (for example) a black smudge on the cheek and then he did the test and switched the heads and was all "oh yeah professional dye IS better looking" while holding up the box dye mannequin. he also did a cut in the video

It's not an honest mistake, though.. steps were taken and there were probably a lot of people who thought this was okay to do.. and vegans sometimes go above and beyond to get certain things. you should always check. it is your responsibility to check what you buy. misprints happen, mislabeling happens, and deceit happens. but regardless that they do, it’s YOUR job to check what you’re getting. i’m allergic to lemon pepper, so i always check flavored foods for lemon pepper. i’m not even deathly allergic; i just break out in hives. if i don’t read the ingredients and have a reaction, that is on me and no one else. don’t play victim in this instance. he’s wrong for false advertising IF and ONLY IF he knew about carmine, but not if people don’t check the ingredients before using it.

I know somebody with a Lanolin allergy and he uses beauty products regularly so he goes for cruelty free/vegan products to avoid the possibility of Lanolin being in it, and thinking that something like this could happen and someone could have a genuine allergic reaction because they failed to label a product correctly makes me pretty upset.
