@blueberrypie43219 ай бұрын
This case is so sad to hear she took her mother's life in a delusional state. My mom also has paranoid schizophrenia and unfortunately it's not always as simple "just get then mental health treatment" it is up to the patient to understand the seriousness of the illness and agree to accept treatment. It's a very difficult situation for everyone involved. The delusions are indistinguishable from reality. My thoughts are with the family
@shaniezzo1149 ай бұрын
Thank you for explaining why it's so hard and effects everyone in that person's life and even some that are innocent bystanders. Get your loved one help. It's honestly the only way besides the power of prayer.
@blueberrypie43219 ай бұрын
@shaniezzo114 thank you for that. Yes, I'm unbelievably relieved to say that we have been blessed in our case. My grandma tried to seek treatment for my mom for many years and I have also tried for as long as I can remember. Now I'm 30 and everything came to a head when one of her delusions lead to her destroying her electrical panel and getting injured. She has been getting treatment for the past year now and finally understands the importance of it. I sleep like a baby every night since. I'm tearing up writing this because it's been such a journey to get to this point including restrainingorders and arrests in order to try and force treatment through those heartbreaking means. I just wish it didn't have to come down to such terrible circumstances to make progress. I'm just so greatful to the lord that our situation has resolved with grace instead of the way others experience.

she should be locked away for the rest of her life she TOOK someones life in such a horrid way i dont care if its delusions or not the intent was still there
@blueberrypie43219 ай бұрын
@admiralkaede yes, I agree with you completely. In the video a professional spoke about the significance of schizophrenia and just siad get your loved one treatment. And unfortunately its not that simple. It took me 30 years of taking care of my mom to get her treatment. I was merely trying to explain that the mental health intervention needs to happen much sooner than what the US allows. It shouldn't have to take a major event like this to only start getting treatment after something like this. I believe if you're diagnosed with a major mental illness like schizophrenia some sort if treatment or monitoring should be mandatory not only after a horrible incident occurs. I've had too many horrid experiences in my case with my loved one. I've also read about so many heartbreaking incidents in the Facebook support group I'm in too. It's difficult to get any sort of treatment anywhere in the country and the delusions unfortunately make the patient believe they dont need help and it can't be forced upon them until an incident occurs. It breaks my heart to hear the mothers life was taken in this case. I just feel if the country or each state had more resources, this could've been prevented.

Breaking open a door is a lot harder than movies makes you believe, unless it's literally made of paper I guess. At least in my house I know no mater how strong someone is it's just not happening without an axe or something and even then it would take a lot of effort and time to get through the door. What I find weird tho is how calm he was.

Umm, what's up with this step father. If that was my wife I would have had an axe to that door and that axe would have found that little monster if she didn't stop hurting her. He sounded like a mouse on that phone call. I almost think he should have been held accountable. So weird.
