I've been bleaching and dying my own hair funky colors for a long time, some good products I recommend looking at is the ion creme bleach and using it with the lowest developer you can, checking it every like 10-15 min. My hair is thin and dark and it gets it almost white in 25 min with 20 developer sometimes 30 if I have a dark color on. You may need to adjust if you have thicker or damaged hair. I use a cholesterol mask by Queen Helene, it's a large tub and very cost effective, helps repair hair and give moisture back but it may not work for everyone, works great for me. Read review first. Another good treatment is called Sauce and they have different types for different hair and effects. All of these can be bought online or at Sally's if you have one. Just some advice from someone who bleaches often. Happy dying and have fun 😊
@rain37432 жыл бұрын
Plus, you're probably pulling permanent color through the ends, as well. You get that opaque build up and the developer is probably 40 Vol so yeah, the roots are gonna lift more and go bright. Saturate the hair and use finer sections! Enough color on the hair is enough xolor IN the hair. Juat keep exoectations for peo woek after all of that very low. And be honest about what you've used on yoir hair and for how long.

Years ago I went from black to brown. I went to a hairdresser because I’d been using black box dye for years and I didn’t want to risk stuffing it up. The hairdresser was *amazing*, I was so grateful. Some of my ends didn’t even react to the bleach and they stayed black when the rest of my hair had lifted to red/orange. Fortunately, the black was only a couple of centimeters, so she cut it off when she cut and styled my hair. The result was a beautiful rich, chocolate brown with dark red highlights, and it was worth every cent! ❤️

Most box dye hair fails happen because people don't follow directions which tells you to section your hair,never buy enough boxes and expect to much for an over the counter product. Your hair won't look like on the box from 1 bleaching session, especially super dark hair. All the money some of these people spend trying to fix mistakes,they could of paid a professional to do it.

It didn't fall out in clumps because you bleached it for 30 years lol. It will have been the last application that did all the damage. I do my hair myself. I was going every 4 months. I would just do my roots in between coloring. But the prices skyrocketed. So I decided I'm not doing $300 + tip for 4 weeks of color. I can do it myself for $30ish. And I'm always pleased. I, however, do not change around my hair color. I have a lot of gray, or I wouldn't do it at all. My hair is very thick, curly and considered long. So it costs a lot to do it. I personally think it's ridiculous. If I'm paying that kind of money, you'd think you'd get at least 1 root touch-up thrown in. Nope. Yes I was getting highlights and lowlights.

First remove as much color as possible from dyed hair before bleaching if you don't have dye remover mix half 10 vol developer half dish soap or shampoo saturate dyed parts wear a shower cap leave it on for 10 minutes or more or till you see it's lightened a shade you like, I've done it with 3% medical peroxide not as strong but does the job. Dark colors do take longer be patient

I'm in California and the prices of stuff is higher than a lot of other states in the US. Getting hair bleached at places is usually at least $200. The lady charged this girl $134 to fix her messed up hair. It looks great for that price. I wouldn't think that anywhere in the US that fixes bad at home bleachings or dyes would charge more than $200 for it to be perfect or at least close to perfect. This lady probably didn't spend tons of hours fixing it. Almost no one says the price of getting their hair fixed. At least people know that about $150 will most likely get results like what she got. Way better than what they started with, but not high quality.
@rain37432 жыл бұрын
My color corrections start at $300 for 3 hours and $75 per hour after that. Sometimes, it's multiple sessions to do it safely. There's no "magic product" that takes care of splotches, old box dye, and banding/bleach damage. It takes HOURS. Avg is 5-8, I'd say.
@jnmsks6052 Жыл бұрын
Yikes, that was a lot of money for doing it herself. I pay under $120 for a professional, but it's single process, and my roots are white, I'm just coloring back to my original color before my hair started changing. I was amazed watching my hairdresser bleaching someone else's hair while mine was processing. So many layers of foil. I never went to a salon before I started getting it colored, so even at the age of 43, this was all new to me.

I'm so glad I stopped going platinum/bleach blonde... Its not only a long process to do because you have to do small pieces and then go back for the roots but it also is alot of maintenance for the upkeep. I had to bleach once a month. A year of that and I lost hair, and suffered a chemical burn once and wound up getting a Bob cut . My head still itches four /five months later... I like just having my natural dirty blonde back. I love the warmth in it. Never going back to bleach again .. lol

If I spent $132 at a salon just for them to match my roots to my lengths and I still had obvious roots like that last chick, I'd be pissed. Hell, I can't bring myself to pay that much to have my hair dyed. Which is why I do not have pastel colored hair. I know my coloring capabilities and that big of a color change far exceeds my limits. I'll stick with the Ion for dark hair in red with 20 volume developer.

Even the most experienced hair dresser can only work with what they have. I'm not a hairdresser, but there would be a reason why they did what they did. Maybe the hair condition wasn't as resilient as she thought, and because the roots were bleached so light, it "grabbed" the colour so it looks darker but will fade in a few washes.
