Sometimes they don’t. My local Sally’s was amazing and the employees were actually in cosmetology school. I stopped at a Sally’s in the next city one time and the employee was trying to convince me to use 40 vol developer on my ginger hair. Later in the conversation she dropped that she had to shave her head because her hair was so fried. She looked beautiful with a shaved head though.
@jessicafarewell54295 жыл бұрын
Oh, they know, those ones likely just don't care. I used to work there (great job) and we got regular training and tests on everything to do with hair. Granted, it's no where near as intensive and in depth as cosmetology school but, they know a fair amount. But to some people, it's just a paycheck so they could care less if you give yourself hot roots.

Victxriaac xx I do have a decent knowledge. But 80% of people lie. Now with that in mind you also need to know what people have done to their hair in the last six months to know how their hair reacts. Even then you don’t know. Then if you tell them one thing and their hair end up falling out or getting fried your responsible. Even if they didn’t follow the instructions. If it’s not 100% virgin
@leahmiller52175 жыл бұрын
Victxriaac xx hair your not going to know EXACTLY it turns out. And I do have A LOT of knowledge on other things they sell. Like makeup, skin care, hair care products. Why did I work their when I didn’t feel 100% confident with blondes because I plan on going to back to school for hair and it helps you learn. Honestly sound like 60% of the customers who get mad that I’m honest and don’t want the responsibility of messing up their hair. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 sorry not sorry

@@saskiatattam2936 i was close friends with girl who had the most gorgeous bright red hair and freckles in 4th-9th grade. i thought she was sooo pretty and was always so jealous of her hair. freshman year, she shows up at school in 10th grade with brown hair and told us "yeah ive been dying it the whole time. i just always had a thing for gingers." and let me tell you, when i say we were ALL shocked, i mean we were SCHOCKED. we've been out of high school for a year and shes still got that natural brown.

@so._.anyways4 жыл бұрын
it would have been worse with 20vol. the grey was because toners tend to do that. You're putting a corrective on porous hair. It will sometimes take too much. I've been bleaching and coloring my (and friends') hair for six years. Sometimes the grey just need a few washes... Also, T18 is not always the best choice. Just using a 050 cool color additive from Wella for like 5 mins can bring you to a nice icy color. Or you could deposit some t14 with that and even out the greyness.@@LaylaBugLadybug

Once, I dyed my hair blue. I did everything correctly but when I went to wash it out, the dye ran down my face and my neck and I forgot to wear gloves when I washed it out. I was bright blue and I didn’t go to school because I was trying to get it out of my skin with rubbing alcohol, plus I didn’t want to get bullied. I looked like papa smerf and when I went back to school people still bullied me. So...👍

I think it depends on the brand and how much of your hair you dyed. I've only had it bleed in the bathroom but not too much on my hands/skin because I've only done blue on my ends.

@Not Chris nothing they said conveyed that they lacked confidence & it wasn't about "society's standards" you just might not want to go to school when you look ridiculous because you look like you're covered in blue paint and its irritating to have the amount of aggravating remarks that would come from that. it's distracting, and they're there to learn so thats kind of an issue. that bothers all types of people regardless of confidence. confident people don't welcome being laughed at, mocked, pointed at, & insulted for potentially the entire remainder of their schooling either. and, what tells you they'll get bullied all their life? where lol? why? by who?

"I wouldn't always trust people at sally's". yes, when I first started toning my hair it was orange basically. I didn't know at the time that I needed a blue based toner. I trusted that the workers there could give me advice. They recommended this purple base "ash" toner. She told me it would definitely work. Later I came to find that it didn't work of course and my hair turned an awful color. Came to find she only told me to get that one because it was their "most popular" toner. Now, I know much more about toners but, I always tell people.. Just because they work there doesn't mean they know everything about the products and everyone's hair is different as well.
