I’m so happy that watching Brad mondo DETERRED me from bleaching my own hair the first time lmao. I went to a salon and paid way too much for a full foil with some temporary dye on my roots because I ain’t maintaining that. Then I chopped off all my hair into a pixie and a year later I decided to bleach my entire head. Now I’m OBSESSED, and my hair loves bleach, it takes 10 volume developer for my hair to go to level 10. I love that these videos are getting better though it seems like we’re all learning something on this channel lol.

They all did pretty great . The first one was far more knowledgeable and actually nailed it . Number 1 gets my vote that was not an easy task . Second girl just could have bleached the patchy areas then go in and do a root shadow with a demi darker blonde . 3rd one surprised me .. her toner saved her.. makes me want blonde again but I’m loving the natural look it’s way less maintenance 🫠🙌🏼

I’ve been watching your video’s since 2020 and last year decided to bleach my hair at home. I had previous color under the color I had and did everything your video’s told me to do and when i went to get it toned professionally my hair stylist was surprised I had done it myself. Research goes a long way, as the first girl showed you through her good results. Just read your shit and follow the instructions and all will be good

I don't understand why people don't buy the ion bleach additive bond builder that's carried at Sally's, it's like 5$. I've bleached my hair using that product to basically white at home by sectioning my hair into 4 quadrants, using foils, finish 2/4 of the quadrants, add bleach to my roots after the quadrants finish and wash, condition them after 40 minutes after the last root piece. Also mix just enough for 1 quadrant of hair worth of bleach (with that bond builder). The longer bleach sits the lower its processing power is. We don't want uneven lifting. I'm able to wash the bleach out after 2 quadrants of hair because I check the foils about halfway through the processing time and again at the end to take the hair that's done processing out of the foil (it lowers the processing power). Then I blow dry my hair so that the remaining two sections are ready for bleach and repeat the process on the other 2 quadrants. My hair can lift to level 9 or 10 using this method with only one bleach. Also, a pack of salon foils at Sally's is pretty cheap and totally worth it. I also recommend what Brad said about not folding them and placing another foil on top instead. Also I reuse them if they don't tear. Use a LOT of bleach per strand of hair, it should literally be swimming in it. I like to make my bleach like cake batter thickness. Measuring with a scale and keeping the developer to power ratio consistent between new batches would also help the consistency of the lift but honesty i don't bother. Would be an interesting investment when I decide to wear fashion colors again. I like cream lightener cuz it combines easier with developer and I usually use 30 Vol with virgin hair. The thickness of the foil and how much hair to put in just one is about an inch. The foils and amount of hair in them lay on top of each other needs to be the same amount of root. If the foils are too thick, the root length will change and it might result in banding or spotting which is hard to fix. Sometimes, if I'm bleaching a fashion color out of my hair (i used to change my color monthly) I used to use another product on my hair after washing it called a neutral protein filler. It closed the cuticles in your hair after bleaching and makes toner absorption even. I used to have a problem with the toner adhering better to my ends. But I just found out this product was removed from sale for testing and is no longer available anywhere. Seems it was pulled from the shelves for some reason (hopefully not a bad reason). apply toner literally as quick as possible I do it to my whole head at once. Root touch ups are a completely different process in and of themselves but yeah. This entire ordeal usually takes me an entire day. Also, genetics and hair type do play a role since I only know that this method works for my fine, Italian/white hair texture. It lifts to blond from sun exposure over the course of a summer outside but my roots are that classic italian brown. (-sometimes i smoke while doing this and it elevates my attention on the task i wanna do- and it makes me high functioning -mild unmedicated adhd vibes-) I've bee growing out my hair for a year since my split ends and breakage were so bad after overlapping my roots too much that i had to do a chop. It's been a lot of trial and error in my hair journey and it took years of doing this myself as a hobby on my own hair to teach myself. I also started with a balayage done by a professional and applied my own semi permanent color before getting brave enough to bleach my own hair. Then learned how to maintain a balayage with the teasing method (not always perfect result) before going all over color. Man I loved my periwinkle hair color. it's possible to get close to salon results at home, and i used to get so many comments about it. and i learned all of this from Brad's videos (and guy tang) since 2018
