I’ve had them for about 5 years, and they are unreal, absolutely awesome boots, once they are broken in they are perfect, I hike with them and have done some road marches with them and I never blister or rub badly at all (obviously pairing them with a good sock is important) but I would also recommend them

Great video. You inspired me to source a decent pair, just to use over winter at the outdoor range. I wont be wading through rivers or climbing mountains, but i will be walking over wet grass and gravel that could be covered in snow very soon. Anyway I found a "Supergrade" pair from a private seller in black, which i prefer. have purchased some Grangers G Wax, and i already have a tin of Cherry Blossom just incase. The quality of these boots is amazing, i cannot compare them with Altberg etc, but only because ive never had any. The Haix look great, have a good sole, great heal and arch support, the lacing system is easy enough and they are comfy enough to wear all day if needed. PS. I take a size 9 in shoes and trainers, the the Haix are size 9h and fit really nice.

I have two pair of these for cold /wet days (brown and black) and a the suede desert pair for hot summer days..... they are by far the best boots I've ever worn... I can whole heartedly recommend them!

Great video, thanks. How are you supposed to treat (waterproof) the textile bit of the outer boot? If they were all-leather, you'd just slap a load of leder-gris, Dubbin or Nikwax on them -- which of course you can do when these. But obviously not on the textile bit! Any thoughts? Also, time for a follow-up video I think? 😁
@RambloManiacs3 жыл бұрын
I don't think you'd need to do much, but there are sprays for textile boots. To be honest I sold them on and got the current issue cold wet weather boots by iturri. I get really cold toes and they are insulated. May be too overkill for most people. I still believe haix are very high quality solid boots

im looking for a waterproof boot , usually i buy a 2nd hand nearly new pair of BRASHERS which are tough and long lasting but fancy a change. Are those Haix are as good as or better then MEINDL Army Mountain Combat or even BATES? Im a newbie to army boots and looking for a pair that will not fall apart after 6/8 months from walking over the downs 7-10 miles a day 7 days a week

Hey. Maybe it was for video purposes but I'd say don't leave mud on the boots like that. It digs into the leather and ruins it along with the waterproofing. Same with salt from snowy places. Just hose them down once you're back home to remove the mud/salt and they'll be fine for a very long time. Also need to work on the audio levels, some videos on the channel are really low volume. I'm loving the reviews/presentations though. Keep it up!
@RambloManiacs4 жыл бұрын
Hey man. Yeh I take good care of my boots don't worry 👍. The mud was to show I have actually used them. Regarding audio, we're always evolving and trying new things. Our audio has improved over time, with the odd set back when we've tried something different. We are just a small channel at the end of the day, so we can't spend mega bucks on camera gear. Thanks for watching and thanks for taking the time to comment. We've got a couple more videos to come already including another hike and wild camp locally plus a dartmoor camp planned for a couple of weeks time.

The Davos are a brilliant hard wearing sole.
@philyaboots16 ай бұрын
Mine are separating from the sole after low miles and have not been abused in any way, very dissapointed to find the sole seems to be simply glued on. comfy boots but I question the build quality.
@RambloManiacs6 ай бұрын
Seems like you got a bad pair. Most hiking/military boots nowadays have glued on soles. That said, some are better than others. If you like them it might be worth taking them to a cobbler to be resoled.

Great review mate. Hows the sizing on these? I am a standard UK 10 and have had Lowa patrol size 9.5 for a couple of years which are great but have always been a bit too big. Also they are trashed with scuffs so I am looking at a pair of these instead. I live in the Lake District and do lots in Scotland from bushcraft to mountains so hoping these will be a winner.
@RambloManiacs4 жыл бұрын
I'd say they come up a little big, but don't do half sizes. When new, they come with volume reducers to adjust the half size. It really depends on foot shape etc though. Maybe try a local army surplus shop so you can try them on first.
@jonser20cent684 жыл бұрын
The sizes are about right and they are roomy in the toe area if you have a wide foot like me. Great fit and very comfortable, not heavy like german para boots. THey have the locking d ring for lacing up which as another commenter says is great for getting the lacing tightness just right. They are the best boot I have worn, great waterproofness and crucially they are not sweaty despite the goretex lining. Very good design and are available used on ebay .co.uk for very reasonable price.
@alpine16094 жыл бұрын
Hi, regarding sizing, I'm a 10.5 normally, sometimes an 11 in the likes of salomon, would you say an 11 would be the better option in these haix, I'm thinking a 10 with my thick merino socks on would be to small
@RambloManiacs4 жыл бұрын
It's always hard to size without trying on. Check the return policy. I'm an 8 usually in boots. They come up quite large for their size so you may find the 10 fits like a 10.5. Technically the volume reducer which comes with it when bought new is to adjust the half size. They are available in wide aswell.
@yan24to3 жыл бұрын
I am normally size 9 exact, I bought 9m which fit perfectly with plenty of room.

How do you clean the mesh on the side also how muc did you buy these for and from where
@RambloManiacs5 жыл бұрын
Hi. The mesh is tough and seems water resistant. You can clean it with a damp cloth or hose and stiff brush the whole boot. They were actually £65 with delivery brand new. They come with spare laces and volume reducers

Hi. I've not done particularly long hikes in them. Maybe around 5/6 miles. If they fit well and they're comfy for you then I don't see why you can't though. I almost always change the insoles in my boots. Usually for Dr scholl gel ones

@@bobmarley6161 I've owned both, similar and both good except the Altberg soles are unbelievably slippy on wet tiles or smooth wet concrete. I would never buy a boot without the locking D ring the Haix have now, it lets you have tight foot laces but looser ankle lace.
