Why not just use a back pack for EDC, so you can throw a sweater in it. This is BS, he's in the Sierra Nevadas and has no sweater for EDC? Oh yeah, it's in the van with their other stuff And his antenna on the UV52 sucks since its a VHF/UHF transceiver and is based on line of sight. There are a few items I would add to your bag but one in particular which has come in oddly handy is a wireless HDMI adapter powered by usb. I've used it for lots of mundane things such as hooking it up to the TV in my hotel room and using it as a monitor for my raspberry pi. There have been lots of other great uses I've found for it however. It's been much more useful than I thought it would be when I first added it.

@@ximonx lol yeah fair point. I meant the 3 currencies not 3 notes lol. The reason I normally have 40 pound and not 50 is that I have found in the past that some shops won't except a fifty note if it's for something small. I smoked when I started doing it about 20 years ago and I got refused on more than 1 occasion because they wouldn't break a fifty, things might be a bit different now a days.

An everyday carry for me is (or rather was before the end times lol) my multiboot usb running E2B. You can just drag and drop ISOs in there. I keep a whole host of stuff there and a backup of tools so I'm not at a loss if my laptop dies or if I need to borrow someone's p.c. for a moment. But for you, I'd recommend adding in a Leatherman or similar high quality multi tool.

I hope it's mentioned in the video that the Baofeng UV-5R requires an amateur radio license to fully use it. Also you don't really get the full 8W of power from it, but it isn't a bad thing. The Boafeng is mind blowingly good, especially the digital side. I worked as a VFX supervisor on this small Film Academy production a couple of years ago. And they handed me a UVR5 and I was used to all the Motorola walkies. And I joked whether it could even carry Dutch speech or just Mandorine. De AD said: “you’ll be amazed and more so about the battery life, I swear you don’t need to change a brick all day”. And she was right! And so I bought a pair (with the smaller battery) and they are useful even on ISM band for non HAMs. And it has become the Radio of the Dutch resistance! Because we k it that our increasingly totalitarian government. Tracks IMSIs (even evidence is there through a freedom of information act, that the NCTV didn’t want to subpoena but a judge ruled against it and through the massive black blocks it became clear they actively tracked IMSIs during rallies and curfew!) So now people use cheap wireless devices to coordinate the road blocks instead of jumping on the tractor and finding police along every intersection 😂 The state was totally flabbergasted that they hadn’t seen tractor convoys pop-up and block distribution centers. The old tech is the tech for the free! The new tech is the tech for the sheep and the mindless. And that reminded me of a chat an old CIA officer gave. “People think we have very unique track and trace hardware… well we did invest in the past with varying degrees of success. But we don’t anymore, because now all of you stand inline at midnight to buy the best piece of spy and control kit with your own money! And even I have one! The mobile phone!” 😂
