Hey Norman! Maybe you can snip that plug off and put on a normal plug, then you have a spare charger.

Good idea Craig but don't really need it as its just a small basic charger and I have some really good chargers that do a much better job.

Good, you got a new battery. England uses round plugs. We use something different again. Let's hope this one lasts longer than 6 months.

I have no use for the charger but do find it interesting they made the mistake. I will take the battery apart and see what's wrong.

@@NormanMcGregor Be very careful taking apart a faulty battery. My guess is a faulty cell or a blown interconnect fuse. However, it may just be as simple as rebalancing all the internal cells. Good luck my friend 😉 🖖

@@JustinCaseSolarPower - I'm thinking its an interconnect fuse as it quit suddenly and is holding at 8vdc. Will know soon.

That battery must have an internal BMS, the BMS should not let the battery go below 10 to 10.5v or above 14.4v. I would say that the BMS has failed if the battery has gone down to 8 volts. I have seen people shock the lithium batterys with a higher current and voltage to start them up again, but you would have to disassemble it and take out the BMS first. If it comes back to life, you would have to then put in a new BMS. BUT ! they can catch fire or explode doing this, or sometime after. 🫣

It could be the BMS but I'm thinking more along the interconnect fuse line so far which should be easy to see. If not it will go to the recycle centre.
