I am a 7 Star Mantis Sifu and we use lots of hammer fist in our system. This is a very effective move and reliable for combat.

This is a very interesting theory. I admire your open mind . This will allow you to continue to improve and evolve. I don’t know very much about the Hakka ways . My Sifu and his Sifu were both extremely powerful Wing Chun masters and used very little effort to generate enormous power. As a result, this is how I continued to practice and teach. Typically I found remaining relaxed and performing a defence against a strike was done no differently against a powerful punch or gentle punch. However, the more powerful the attack, the more pain was received to the attackers arm/leg.

I wish I could financially support you more, as a new parent it's kind of hard but I'm working with other Hakka masters to come up with a business model for an association where we could get paid through the state like libraries do. One thing I know about the Black Mantis is that there was a problem between the Jeet Kune Do founders, Bruce Lee and Dan Inosanto. Guro Dan did not like it, Sifu Lee did.If you can't get Wing Chun or Silat for your close in style, Southern Mantis is the one.

This one thing you know is false, so if what you know is based on falsehood, is there any truth to be found in you?
@jugerknott092 жыл бұрын
Yup. Jook Lum under Gin Foon Mark.
@JustJay1332 жыл бұрын
I didn’t say Sijo Bruce didn’t study Mantis from Gin Foon Mark, as a matter of fact, Gin Foon Mark jokingly said he wished he didn’t take Bruce as a student because he would train until Gin Foon would have to make him go home. Here is what’s false, there is only one founder of Jeet Kune Do, that is Sijo Bruce Lee! Dan inosanto was his student, not a founder or cofounder! Bruce studied mantis before Dan Inosanto ever entered the picture, and Bruce already had the elements of mantis in his system before Dan ever started training with Bruce. So please, you and these morons that came to your rescue, go do your research and stop spreading false information about Bruce Lee and Jeet Kune Do!

'Raking hammer fist'; with 'raking' do you mean 'incorporating circles' (or a vortex in my mind) in to it?

My difficulty is not performing the Hakka fist; it's switching between approaches and keeping the flow going. I'm open-minded tho, so i'm seeing improvement in the future..

If a person's short power is limited, another way is to implement a drop step found in Xing Yi, Baji, or western boxing.

Vectors are not in line. It's at best a glancing blow and the beginning is improbable as the entry is assumed to be an escalation of a conflict. Highly doubtful that would be someone's first response especially if someone is shorter.

Those guys are not that good. No disrespect but sport fighting is much different. It just is mma fans. Sorry. Those guys are great in their area. As boxers would destroy them if they faced mma guys in boxing. Guess what a street encounter is different and Adam did professional security, he may be better trained than they are. Your next question is why is he not in mma right? Smh you guys never will except mma is a sport and not mecca of fighting. Its not
@dmytrobespalchuk13322 жыл бұрын
Because MMA is a sport that uses gloves. Person who trains to do this kind of techniques barehanded cannot do it the same way in gloves. In this case you need to adapt your technique. Your moves will definitely become wider because of difference in size between bare fists and hands in gloves. If you go vice versa after these adaptations then your techniques will have a lot of gaps where bare fist fit in quite easily. You will lose the essential features of these techniques. So you need to train differently for sports in gloves and bare fists for unpredictable situations. Why bother with all of the nuances for the sports only and invest your time in two different approaches? You can use western boxing, kickboxing or other well spread techniques with wider moves that will allow you to use same set of techniques despite of situation and equipment. You need to understand that every sport has rules that cut off most of the effectiveness of this kind of techniques. Also, there is a big difference between sports and martial arts ways of things, their methods and goals.
