Rukia's Bankai was foreshadowed very early in Bleach. Her zanpakuto was named "the most beautiful zanpakuto in Soul Society" in the Arrancar arc, and was declared "beautiful" during the Zanpakuto Rebellion.

Those exemple doesn't really foreshadow her bankai since it was more about her shikai but why not.

Or rather all her shikai original moves all pointed to the real understanding of her ability. Anything she touches, becomes ice instantaneously Even just stabbing the ground, instantly created a whole tower of ice that is super tall Even Toushirou cannot instantly create such a volume of ice. Her bankai is basically the essence of all her shikai "dance" combined into 1, OP with a huge cost unless mastered. But even training with it is risky... Her shikai alone is already basically bankai level lethality.

Rukia's bankai is basically the reverse of version of Yamato's. I creates thermal void with her as the center and as the universe desires to be in a thermal equilibrium the surrounding heat/energy is drawn into her void. That energy cannot be used, but it is instead permanently lost. As such the universe begins to cool around her, if activated for too long it would destroy Soul Society just like Yamato using his for too long would have destroyed it.
