Yasin Affandi We ate it with pickled chilies at our favorite Malaysian restaurant in NYC. Adds a nice flavor!

@@FoodandFootprints It does. Whenever I cook d rice flat noodles, my Malay version must have d cilli paste n belacan as d base, oyster n soy sauce is a must. Love it with prawns n cockles, lots of crunchy bean sprouts n garlic chives, tofu is a nice addition. For my sliced green chili pickles, I love it sweetened.

I wonder if u have been to any other Halal Chinese food outlet ie yong tofu, cheong fun, dim sum etc. I only know one halal yong tofu in ampang city.

You find all the best places to go to those noodles with the duck egg just looked so amazing and then when you added the duck sambel 🌶 spicy just love

Quackteow from name to the dish itself nothing but awesomeness. The black sambal sauce n the side is also unique. Can almost taste the wokeh from here. 🤤 duck egg is a great addition for some extra flavor 😋

The duck egg char koay teow is usually more common in Penang but this guy did an awesome job bringing it over to KL

The duck egg char koay teow looks amazing. Now that I think about it I've never seen char koay teow with sambal. It must be even more delicious as the spiciness magnifies all those flavor 😋

It's so rare to find a Halal char koay teow. The founder got inspired during his trip to Penang and decided to bring it to KL. 😄

Love the name of these places. I don't think we've tried duck eggs before. I was going to ask you if it makes a difference. Glad to know it adds a little something special. You can tell these noodles are packed with flavor. Love how the noodles are a bit charred.

Just by your impression, I would say the duck is more flavorful. I (Maria) absolutely looove duck, and while we both love chicken, the flavor of duck is very rich

The usual char koay teow doesn't have much pork based ingredients if any. Occasionally you might find lap cheong (chinese pork sausage) or pork oil in certain stalls. In order for it to be Halal, each ingredient has to be from a Halal source. You may Google more about Halal foods in Malaysia if you're interested.
