i'm a hearing person but i've studied sign language for several years and a lot of people i've met assume it's only for communicating simple ideas and not abstract thought, i think because they associate it's use with people with mental disabilities who might have limited language skills but that's not cool. a lot of hearing people also assume that deaf people inherently have mental disabilities which is also not cool

As a non-binary person, the whole genitals thing is kind of the reverse for me. I wish I had both. But not at the same time. Like on different days it would be different. 17:27 I am not asexual but I am non-binary. My experience is not that I wish to lack any parts like a Barbie doll. Personally, I kinda wish I had the ability to shape shift my body between a typical male form and a typical female form, sorta like Ranma 1 1/2. One piece of media that helped me “crack my egg” and realize who I am is season one of the show Genlock. There is a character named Val who uses sci-fi technology to regularly switch between male and female and identifies as neither. When I first watched that I thought, “ well if tech like that existed, wouldn’t everybody do that, switch between forms”. Obviously, in real life, it is not realy possible for me to like push a button and switch between forms but I do enjoy having a more fluid gender expression, sometimes masc, sometimes fem, sometimes androgynous. Just wanted to give my two scents on this topic.
