4:06 I really like trans people explaining what they miss or don't miss after transitioning, because I think it gives an insight into the struggles trans and cis people alike face. Like, when she says she loves the intimacy of friendships with girls as a girl, I think that illustrates how a lot of men struggle with intimate relationships and loneliness. And on the other hand, when she says women have to go above and beyond to be appreciated on the same level as men, who only do the bare minimum and get applauded, yeah, that's something that women struggle with. Both are valid struggles that are worth an effort to do something about. Having this direct comparison of life before and after transition is so interesting, thanks for sharing stuff like that.

god the title is so real of you. little bit personal here, so feel free not to read doing work experience at an autism youth group, and I went wearing my pronoun badge (they/them) and every single adult who spoke about me used she/her. it probably would have hurt less if I hadn't tried my best to look masculine, I was wearing my tighter more painful binder to look flatter, I purposefully chose my warmer outfit because the layers would hide my curves despite knowing it would be really warm, and I've been trying to keep my voice low but it always spikes really high when I'm excited or nervous, but it just proves that at this point in my life, I can't be perceived the way I want to be. and I keep thinking, most of the people there probably thought I was a girl. and its just hitting a lot harder today, which is why I clicked on this video, I probably need cheering up as well. might make me feel less violently nauseous lol

you need to lose your transphobic friends. they’re just going to get worse over time, leave while it’s still somewhat easy for you relative to how it will get over time. i’ve been in that situation, so i know the easiest way is to have an argument(find a way to start one if needed) and then completely stop talking to them. if they try to talk to you, side eye(practice looking angry in the mirror if needed)

It's shitty when those you call "friends" misgender you constantly. It's understandable if there's a slip up every now and then if they've known you for a long time, but there comes a point where they clearly aren't trying. Friends would put effort in to not misgender you, that is the bare fucking minimum. Losing friends is hard, especially when you have so few, but you deserve to be treated with respect. Surround yourself with people who respect and care about you because you deserve that, and much more.
