BTW the putnam greenway through Van Cortlandt Park is open now! Also you were so close to finding the easier way back onto the greenway, the entrance is on Dyckman st! Nice ride though, hoping to do it myself, maybe this spring - on a Brompton, lol! Cheers!

Yay it's officially open! Good luck with your ride in the spring! My ambition is to extend the route up to Bear Mountain--logging up to 100 miles.

Thank you for this video. I’m on a staycation and I’ve been exploring NYC outside of the 5 borough’s and looking for new trails to ride and I’ve always wanted to ride across the GWB but didn’t know what to do once over there so this will give me a destination ride. And happy birthday fellow Libra I’m planning a ride from Connecticut this October of about 70-80miles. But I’m on an ebike.

I've ridden that route many times except not the dirt/gravel trail part in Nyack. I don't even know how to get to that! I usually take 9W down to Piermont's downtown area (which is close to the water down from that dirt trail). You missed some great food spots there, including a large bicycle shop, and an ice cream place where you can get a good milkshake to offset all the calories you're burning. :) I guess this is an old video, but it showed up in KZbin's suggestions for me so I'm seeing it now.

I did this ride but I came from queens and around the opposite direction. I rode the palisades and it was crazy steep. We rode 100m in a group with “pineapple ride”. It was in June and it was super hot outside lol.

Good Job! You can do a century, summer there are 8 week training plans online. I recently did in from Van Cortlandt to Brewster, NY and back .
@EscapingConcreteJungle4 жыл бұрын
Wow Van Cortlandt to Brewster and back must be at least 100 miles! I will check that out--maybe somehow combine it with a ride to Bear Mountain as well.

@@EscapingConcreteJungle Yup! It was my first century, nice ride and pretty flat and beautiful scenery. I heard the ride up to Bear Mountain is pretty as well.,

What are the trails/route did you take to go south (Cuomo bridge to NYC) ? Is there a map for that? Do you think you can do this with a regular commuter bike like the FX2 Trek or do you need a specific bike like a mountain bike? Good job with this KZbin channel, very informative !

Always wanted to cross the bridge. Thanks for showing how. Generally I stick closer to home, which is the Bronx. Here's a route I think you know. Definitely a favorite. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYjLYY2plMiCmLs
