Totally agree it's ashame the path is closed at late night

to prevent jumpers at night, maybe... But it is ridiculous indeed.

Everyone - young and old needs to own a bicycle and ride it regularly. Bicycles make life and cities better. Healthy exercise, fossil fuels free transportation and great for social distancing.

I mean, you can actually film interviews while there and they are not fully drowned out. You can talk to people. It is reasonable .

Great job, Clarence! Can't wait to experience that bike/pedestrian path myself! I can remember Steve Faust fighting for this years ago. He would be proud.

Why is it closed at night? Does that also apply to cars?

No, the closing hours only applies to the path

lmao of course not! cars are serious transport for serious busy business people. unlike bikes which are toys for children and the poors.

I think they should have physically seperated the path with different material and since there supposed to be a lot of foottraffic and biketraffic, they should have widened the path. How is the connection by bike? Is this bridge integrated in a bigger cycling network?
@BlaxKid224 жыл бұрын
Urban planners if you’re watching this we want wider bridges dedicated to pedestrians and cyclists. Preferably with separate lanes for each stakeholder group (pedestrians, cyclists, automobiles)
@trilingualfudge73074 жыл бұрын
yea im glad they got they got it but it was very thin, i would have thought that whole thing would have been a pedestrian path, and then possibly on the opposite side a two way bicycle path

Such a shame. Why not try to do it right the first time? Costs are about the same. Whoever designed this hasn't been on a bike since childhood. I'm sure for the same amount of money they could have build a nice, wider bidirectional cycle path, and a fully separated pedestrian path. Just as car drivers don't like people wandering into the road, neither do cyclists. And why have emergency phones that will only be vandalised, when nowadays all you need is good cell phone reception? And why is it closed at night? Do they also close it for cars? Don't think so.
@sitdowndogbreath3 жыл бұрын
Because nobody expected that amount of foot traffic the amount of bicycles that's why
