I watched your ascent video first. As a disabled person approaching my senior years I can’t begin to describe how much I enjoyed your videos. I know I’ll never be able to take this adventure IRL, but your videos help me to dream and imagine. Thank you so very much for creating and sharing. I felt your strength with every step you took. I pray that in my next life I will soar over this beautiful, precious, and humbling place we call home. ❤❤❤

Heading up subdome and down Half Dome we’re the two scariest portions of the hike for me. Your video captures the experience beautifully! Definitely hard and scary, but absolutely breathtaking!

Watched both your videos because my daughter is doing it this weekend. Congratulations, just kind of wish I had not watched it. You gave a great indication on what it feels like to be there.

Beautiful footage that actually made it feel like I was almost there, but I still see this place as a death trap. I will never understand why anyone wants to do this. To me it's not worth the risk.

facing uphill sliding hand over hand on one cable was easy coming down.

That was awesome. I just seen your climb video and enjoyed it 😉 did you do this in 1 day & what time did you leave and finish at the bottom & miles? Appreciate your perspective of these 2 videos you posted on the Half Dome Hike👏😉👍

Thank you!! The hike itself was from about 730am to 4pm including 1 hour on the top for lunch and pictures. I camped in the park for the nights before and after so driving wasn't a problem. The total distance I recorded was 16 miles (26 km) with 5000 ft (1500 m) of elevation climb

I think toughest portion might be coming DOWN the sub. Your knees are going to be beat up.

I was thinking the same thing!! You'd think that your legs would be like rubber at that point, or actually way before that!

Are you sliding from wood plank to plank on the steeper sections of the cables? How long does that 60 deg incline part last? Did you find it was easier to do it facing down rather than facing uphill? Great video

The video was real time, so depending on how many people there were, I would say 10-20min each way on the planks. The rock surface doesn't have the best grip so some sliding was involved (The planks were quite important) I found it more of a shock going up. Once you are up at the top, I guess I got desensitized by the heights and coming down wasn't that big of a deal. I could see some people scared of the down portion more because you have no choice but to look steep down.

why do people do this hike with huge backpacks that arent suited to this type of terrain hiking?some energy snacks and fluids is all you need, plus a change of underwear if required due to any slips on the way😂
