❤️❤️ Awesome reward at the top. We spent the night on top in 1989 which was the last year they let overnighters spend the night.

Y'all made that look like a leisurely walk in the park😂😂 I watched another video where the park ranger who gave the safety briefing said "if you use a harness, you shouldn't be climbing" that to me is crazy, i get that it can be time consuming to unclip throughout and slow others down.. but to discourage/shame someone using it 🤦♀️🤷♀️

Love this video! The scenery narration, animations and editing!! Definitely subbed. Can the lady please tell me where she purchased her shorts from please?

Awesome video, guys! Thank you! Including the trail map and elevation graphics was clutch for me.

Omg! That’s beautiful 😍 highest I ever hike up to is upper fall and Nevada. I don’t think I will ever have the courage to do half dome. Thanks for sharing the experience and the view. It’s beautiful

Great job and thanks for sharing! What day of the week did you go, weekend/weekday? And I’m assuming this was in August?

Appreciate it! This video is from Sunday, July 28, 2024! We got the permit in the lottery the previous Friday and started our hike around 5am 🥾⛰️

I hiked to Half Dome back in 1992 (or 1991, not sure), when no permit was required. The tough part to me was the elevation gain. So I cheated. We had a big group of people to rent the shuttle bus to the Glacier Point. Then we started the hike from there. It was mainly downhill to Nevada Fall, and the hike was less challenging.

How long was the hike doing it this way? Might be a good option for me. 16 miles and that much elevation gain is a little past my limit

@@troyesch6203 I started the hike from the Glacier Point at 10:35am and arrived at the Half Dome at 3:35pm. There was some thunder in some remote mountain, so I did not want to stay at Half Dome too long. I left Half Dome at 3:50pm and arrived at the village at 6:50pm. Some of my friends arrived at the village at 9:30pm. 😞

Logic would say requirements would be :1. You must train for this, not just show up. 2. Gloves. 3. Weather is NEVER guaranteed.=Safety harness. Even in good weather, especially for going DOWN the cables. (Most mountain fatalities occur during the descent)

Just came from a news story about a girl losing her footing on this 'Half Dome' portion while coming down and she died. I think I'd cut my walk before that bit. Seems to be enough to experience without all that nonsense. Nice video though.

Just did the trail yesterday. Sub dome was the challenge not the cables.

100% agree. Cables look pretty scary, but the sub dome definitely was more freaky when I hiked this trail as a kid.

I don't think they should require harnesses going up the cables.
