It wasn't bad. Just had a change of opinion on running half doors. I kind of like this method compared to others because it's a little less welding.

I think it would be kinda cool to put a push button in the key hole to open the door if that's possible. I'm glad you posted this. I really like how you cut the doors I think I'd do a similar shape on my Cherokee. I really don't like the doors that are cut really far. I really haven't seen any half doors that are clean enough looking for me to get excited about making some. I think it's really hard making half doors like this. I've seen some really ugly half doors and Yours aren't too bad. I think if I were to attempt it I would cut out my shape and leave the outer skin alone no bends or anything then I'd probably remove the whole inner skin and build a frame. It would be neat to do rears too. Another thing I'd be really picky about is the hinges, I'll have to check out your video for the removable doors. I wouldn't want my hinges to be loose or wear out fast but at the same time I'd want something easy to remove and install. When you mentioned wanting some protection it made me think of tube doors, you could probably make some doors from tube or use both tube and the outer door skin. I suppose if you just install door bars you'd have that protection with the doors off. I've seen some people install door bars onto their cage and cut out a section of the door for the bar to fit into so when the door is shut the bar is actually partially in the door to add more room in the passenger compartment which might be nice but you may not want to cut that stuff up.

All very good points. I was actually looking for a push button release but couldn't find anything that I felt would work. I still plan on running the seat bar and have it tuck behind my factory doors, but otherwise I really like the open feeling of Wheeling with no doors at all.

Man…that wasn’t a fail, that was a bail. I forgot you used the word fail in your thumbnail, I was ready to see the finished product. Honestly, it seems you were out of it once you saw the Bondo on that door. Good ideas, thanks for posting.

Maybe the fail in the thumbnail was a little click baity. Sorry. You might be right about the bondo on the door. Watching the video game you can kind of see that I definitely had a change in tone for the rest of the project after the door cracked.
