Yes the graphics still hold up. The only other game I can think of around this time that had impressed me with graphics besides this was Tom Clancy's Double Agent but that came out 2 years later than this. There is a scene in that game in Hong Kong with fireworks that is amazing. Crysis too ppl made a big deal about- but this game was the forerunner

Not really. Half Life is super overrated. I'm not saying its a bad game, but it definitely isn't impressive compared to other games released around the same time. Almost no gameplay, 90% crawling through tunnels, mediocre story, etc

That “magician” guy is called Cheaple. He was a person who died and I think he worked for Valve (not sure) but ya. Cheaple died so they made him the low texture model. That wasn’t the magician guy. The T-Posing was because there’s no animation for him in the corners. It helps preserve CPU power and game rendering time if they make him T-Pose.

The "David Blaine Levitating" @2:16 was later revealed to be a "Recreation for TV" where they used wires to demonstrate "what people saw". His actual levitation is him standing at an angle to people and balancing on the toes of one foot (which is why he can't get more than 4 inches off the ground) while his planted participants gasp in amazement.

- This game is ahead of it's time for many reasons . - It's also one of those games you can replay over and over without being bored of it "todays games are very fast forgetable and has a short lifespan" . - The Lore/Story of the whole Half-Life, Portal , is so immersive & interesting as it is very mysterious still today . - People didn't understood why Freeman don't talk it's because we all the players are "The Freeman" and interact to the game differently even by speech to ourselves or to our friends while playing . - Still people are making mods similar to another game "Doom" makes both games the holy grails of video games . - Don't understand why some people hate this game franchise ? Sadly we will never see Half-Life Episode 3 at all too bad since it would end the whole Half-Life 2 game . Also the graphics , game mechanics has changed way too much today it would ruin the game experience and the nostalgia . Also i hope they will never make a Half-Life 3 since there's a part missing in the story . I would rather see a TV Series from this franchise would be more wiser imo . Anyway games from 1995-2005 are still the best many efforts were done back then . Todays games are lazy copy itselves over and over with the same errors, bugs and what not . There's no more "real research" into making a video game as something "unique & revolutionnary" .

Just a thought: in HL2 there are two Romanian references. Father Grigori from Ravenholm is modelled after Daniel Dociu, a video game art director, concept artist and former chief art director of NCsoft North America. Also, on some levels, notably Bridge Point, there is a sign board by the shed in the yard that reads: NEVRIN54 INSECTICID NEUTRALIZAT PERICOL DE INJSETARE ATENTION CALDURA INTENSIVE GRSIAL TANMERIT. Ignoring the typos, it reads: neutralized insecticide danger of ingestion attention intensive heat mistake. The last word is probably gibberish.
