I can't help but feel that while reaching the elevator makes for the most satisfying run structure (climbing to victory, no long wait in the elevator, etc.), it really should be that the timer stops when you reach the elevator but it only counts if you actually survive the journey down. Rocketboosting to hit the bottom of the elevator and then falling to your death surely means you don't actually finish the level...

that would be trivial edit: just to clarify, this is trivial because you could just airstrafe to land in water, which would eliminate fall damage.

i used to speedrun lost coast suitless. there was a bug where if you crouchwalked while waking up you could dodge the suit trigger. you could only walk and couldnt switch weapons so you could only use autoequipped weapons. very slow, methodical runs.

I'm a little fuzzy on the details, but as I recall there was no leaderboard, and I was unable to find any other single-segment speedruns at the time. ​@@aresnir2725 the point of a speedrun is to complete a run as fast as possible. Rebinding keys is a tool that the game provides. It's entirely your own problem if you don't use that tool. I understand the appeal of someone playing the game "normally" in a speedrun but that should always be its own subcategory.
