The maps already look like they came out yesterday, now all that’s needed are remastered models

For those unaware, the reason you may not notice a massive difference here is Source engine already uses a prebaked version of path tracing, where the shading is baked into the textures and materials when compiling a map instead of simulated in real time. This is why Source always looked so good. Doing it in real time just allows for this to be calculated dynamically and with a greater degree of detail, which is amazing.

Thats a lot of textures! how did you mass upscale/replace them so quickly?

There was a game capture for Half Life 2 on ModDB of the entire game. I was able to download that, and throw all the textures into PBRify. I then used a script to auto replace/assign all of the upscaled textures as well as their normal/roughness maps! :) It took some time to get it all done, but I let the computer do all the heavy lifting haha

Excuse me, can you write a step-by-step guide somewhere on how to install this? I have been unable to figure out for a week how to launch the game without crashing.

Could you make a tutorial?

I downloaded it and tried to play the game. Installed HL2 and Portal RTX then copied HL2 folder to Portal RTX folder and skipped the already existing files. Then I put the config file and all the other files thet you share to the main "PortalRTX" file. I mean the "materials" folder and "SubUSDs", I put these in main "PortalRTX" folder and overwrited the config file. I started the game, performance was so poor, since I am aware that RTX mods for Source engine runs slowly, I wasn't surprised, but also the shadows were flickering and always disappearing randomly. Lightnings were so weird, I tried to open some Lighning settings from ALT+X but it also didn't quite work, it was only a bit better. So I'm asking did I install wrongly or the mod is not for playing but for taking videos and screenshots? I mean the flickering? Is it normal?
