It's always interesting when we get the perspective of a combine soldier. I get these questions like why did they become this. how much of them is still human or are they just mindless tools for the combine. And if it's possible to give them there humanity back.

Always wondered why more metro cops didn't join the resistence after episode 1. It would have been cool to see metro cops without their masks like Barney running around trying to make up for all the bad shit they did in the end.

@@p1tz0n16 The resistance would consider them traitors to humanity and execute them most likely, also a cool fan theory is that when you play the train escape part of episode 1, the Metrocops you fight were trying to take the trains for themselves and escape the other Combine Soldiers as well as the City.

Impressive work, pretty Nice to see the cremator and that guardian (Big armored guy) having an appearance in this along with the other metropcops models, plus the lighting in specific scenes with a nice view and detail, honestly just amazing, That one OTA at the end though, he knew a lot and probably saved his buddy

Slightly lore inacurate as Combine Soldiers outrank the MetroCops (in addition to having practically all their humanity replaced by military and tactical information) But, besides that- it's very well done

Idk if they "outrank" them (in so far as they could order them). They are two entirely different "branches", Combine soldiers are part of the actual occupational army whilst Metrocops are incharge of law enforcement, not active combat engagements

@@KalashVodka175 and well- Metrocops are just humans and they can (and usually do) upgrade into Soldiers (upgrades and memory replacement). That's also why I have had the thought Soldier's outrank Metrocops- despite being a different branch, they are a "metrocop upgrade"

Metro cops or CCA Units as they technically are meant to be, outrank combine soldiers unless it’s in like the citadel or a nexus building, specifically when they are in a city, the CCA has more authority then OTA until they are outside of city limits.

I'd love to see a mod made that portrays the last combine forces on Earth. Wouldn't mind how it ends, just as long as it's from the perspective of the remaining loyalist civil protection and other combine forces... Like an Ordinal or an Elite somewhere taking authority during the short period of when the Overwatch A.I. was offline, or in a future where they ARE the remaining Combine... And maybe a remaining loyalist sector.

Incredible work! There are still some points that can be improved but overall great work. I also really love the attention to detail with proper use of lore names for the combine. Points of note: I think you overdo it a tad with the metropolice pack. There are so many random CP variants running around it becomes a bit unbelievable since all we see in hl2 is the one kind. It’d make more sense to have different types with different sectors. Also, why use the metropolice pack at all? The combine soldier pack is super high res and you should consider matching it with Nemez’s civil protection. Also, you used the concept civil protection which looks a lot like a soldier only adding to the confusion. Animation is ridiculously hard and time consuming, but you should really still do your best to avoid cutting corners. There were a number of moments that look like they were just recorded in gmod, especially the part where the civil protection was fighting and one of then got shot but only damaged. You didn’t list gmod but I really feel like you used it here. Also, the dude death crawling, was that a death animation addon? In slowmo it looked kinda bad with his feet sliding and not making contact. The hallway explosion was also pretty borked with the CP units just sorta dying, hard to explain exactly what. I feel like this can be helped a ton by using an explosion with effects, showing a frame or two of you manually animating them getting launched, cutting to black, then showing a carefully staged aftermath scene. See ThePerryGod’s spikewall animation for reference. None of this is to take away from how impressive this is, it is simply constructive feedback. I absolutely adore this animation and you did an incredible job. I can’t even imagine how long it took.

Likely an attempt to secure an asset. Combine Soldiers are humans that have undergone more extensive biological conversion than the Civil Protection Units/Metropolice - So in this context - If the Combine Soldier variants were truly that rare now, it would make sense to secure one of the final remaining assets as a mean for continued research and data preservation.
