How i study physics: 1) watch DrPhysicsA video on topic 2) briefly go over stuff in text book and some stuff which may have been missed out 3) do questions with ease 4) celebrate

Hi Dr P Just wanted to thank you for taking the effort to publish all your short lectures online. Absolutely a wonderful aid for a fellow in his 50´s trying to help his 3 children through high-school. Clear and concise. Wish I had this, back when…. Sterling effort. Thomas

I hope you intend to continue these videos! You are one of the best, if not THE best guiding teacher I have found on the internet, and your explanations are always incredibly clear. I can't thank you enough for the great job you do. Thank you so much!!

This video is so helpful. I was meant to finish p2 ages ago but my teacher is quite slow so I have to learn this whole topic myself then start revising again and doing past papers. Thank you, you have made life so much easier for me! :)

ThankYou so much for this video! I have been struggling with half life for a few weeks now, and I was going through KZbin, but most of the other tutorials were so complicated! However I understood this! Thanks again! :)

"Is called a Becquerel, after Henri Becquerel who was the physicist who gives his name to this particular measure" :D haha. I like all ur videos, they are clear. Good job. I just would like u to do some derivations that u didn't do before (not for this video). Like "cosx+i.sinx=e^(ix)" for the wave equation (maybe I missed that).

Such awesome videos, so engaging and energetic! Just a question, do you know what Ionisation and Penetration Power is? I'm completely puzzled. Thank you

you need to check the A level playlist videos for that.

This could be a little silly question, but what if we have left with one single radioactive atom there. Could we say that is going to decay after the half-life? I mean if it is only statistical measure, can we be totally sure?
@DrPhysicsA
@DrPhysicsA 9 жыл бұрын
deadalus1991 The half life only works when you have a large number of atoms. But even one atom will have a probability of decay.

DrPhysicsA : When any radioactive nucleus decay...only part of its mass decreases.. So why would the overall mass becomes half after every half life?? Anyways thanks for all your amazing videos.
@DrPhysicsA
@DrPhysicsA 8 жыл бұрын
+tonmoy khan There are two distinct issues here. First, if we have 1kg of radioactive material, then after one half life we will have only 0.5kg of that material left - but the other 0.5kg (roughly) will constitute the radioactive decay products. Second there will be a much smaller mass loss associated with the energy emitted during the decay.

+DrPhysicsA aha your videos have covered and explained more than any of my teachers have. I really want to do A level physics, I want to study astrophysics/physics in university. These videos have helped an amazing amount. I've always had bad teachers throughout my school life and now, with only 2 months left till the exams, these are lifesavers.
