Just some extra facts that do not matter to the combine lore in the context that you guys did the vid about. -The police are citizens called “Civil Protection”, the CP’s families are held hostage by the Combine. (The CPs also get extra rations and even reward points though! Gotta have that non-mechanical reproduction simulation!) -Many combine machines that seem fully mechanical have biological parts such as: >computers having mutated rats for memory storage >medical kits having juiced grubs in them >the giant “Citadel” having giant tubes with veins and fluids going through them >and many more instances. -If a soldier or CP fails at their job, their family is killed. -If an innocent person who has no part in the resistance sees someone even just tap a CP in a rude way, they will be killed as to stop “socio-contamination” -Citizens can gain ration credits by working for the combine in ways such as: >loading materials on and off of trains >(supposedly) by listening to CP’s orders >cleaning up dangerous alien flora -The combine call themselves “Universal Union” -The combine originally had no interest in earth and actually only wanted to kill xen flora and fauna (These facts mean nothing to the overarching story of Half-Life)

Other interesting fact: 1. Combine are interested too in Aperture technologies (specially the portal technology) 2. the Universal union are a mix of a lots of races and regimes. on Earth it rule by the "True rulers" in Sofia (the earth division capital) in Bulgaria. 3. the Universal Union mainly just care about Economy, Tech & Science. Their good & bad vision are different from the humans one. 4. The union don't knows and don't really care what happen on earth, in the Alpha of HL2 it's said that they started to care when they stopped receive the goods and impacted a bit the economy of the Union. 5. The actual leaders of the combine are called: Boss or Masters 6. Child actually working in factory. 7. the Advisors are basic snitch, voice, ear and eyes for the Masters, politicians and Corpo CEO. 8. Earth rules by his own laws if it's accepted by the Masters. Like I said if they got what they want, they don't care what happen. 9. Combine are inspire by the "One State" in the 1920 russian book WE. Same book that inspire Brave new world and 1984

i think combine are humans who have already visited other worlds way before the black mesa incident, zen was just the newest location. G man is CIA, not some unknown super being.
