And in Halflife, Gordon and Barney ARE friends, so it's not too farfetched to think that while Benrey is more aware than the average NPC, he doesn't know that wayneradiotv isn't Gordon. So he really does think Gordon just, doesn't wanna be friends anymore.

I'm fully convinced that Benrey is both the least ai-like (aka most 'real') and simultaneously *least self-aware* character on the stream, he does all this shit that rarely makes sense and I genuinely believe the man just has absolutely no fucking clue what's going on at any given moment. He only knows the basics- Gordon friend, Gordon gives funny reactions when I provoke him, this guy has a gun and people with guns shoot at us so I'll shoot first, rocket launch cool. He's so frustrated at the end cause he knew that in some way, if they kept going the way they were going bad things would happen and he'd have to fight his friend, so maybe if I bother him he'll give up- but he never fucking gave up and now whatever bad thing is gonna happen Tl;Dr Benrey is pissed and makes no sense because his body runs on the power of entropy alone and he has little to no idea what's even going on or what he's doing at any given moment

Benry is god amongst men, Dr. Coomer is cybernetically enhanced beyond belief with the ability to see beyond the fourth wall, Prof. Bubby is a genetic anomaly possibly capable of becoming a car, and Tommy is the power of friendship (and no tigger discipline). Oh, and Gordon is there too. Overall, 10/10 characters.

I really don't think it's gonna stop here, there's no drama, the fandom has proved that we can be patient, but the expectations (and pressure) are still p high so I imagine the crew is probably going to try to put as much effort as they can into it, which means it's gonna take a long ass time.

I think the name "But the AI are self aware" only became true at the end for Coomer's speech. Before, they didn't realize where they were, until now, where coomer admits there is a whole world out there. They were changed, because they were different. It's a very sweet ending.

Well I'd say Coomer was subconsciously aware in Act 3 since he mentioned a World within Gordon's dreams, and said when Gordon goes to sleep he can feel his body torn apart, it's only just before fighting Benrey that he's fully realised the world may be fake, and he is completely aware once "Gordon" confirms the world is fake.
