So this disrupted ‘Half Time’ HM training series continues finally, after my various injury niggles have gone. I’m roughly 6 weeks into this relaxed training series and haven’t done half as much as I would have liked.
I re-ran the attempted workout from episode 2, and did a 3x 7min workout at threshold pace, between LT1 and LT2.

Threshold running is an area I feel I can make improvements now my aerobic base is built. As I’m moving into HM and then marathon training, it is more important to focus on improving my ability to run in and around threshold pace, and prepare my body to be better able to utilise and clear the lactate.
Overall, I’m delighted with how the session went, how steady and controlled the effort was, and that I’m back to running niggle free and feeling good again.
I will do more lactate threshold workouts over the next few weeks, and will do a more in-depth threshold vlog to cover the topic for new runners. Look out for those!
Time now to crack on and make up for lost time in the last few remaining weeks before my family holiday. Let’s see what can be achieved…..
Good luck to anyone running the Chester HM next Sunday, shout if you see me spectating…!
Thanks as always for watching…
Happy Running!
