Right before Guns N Roses hit it really big, I met some of the LA Guns and Faster Pussycat guys at a Billy Idol/The Cult concert. They gave my friend and I a ride into town to The Cathouse, a club they'd invested in along with Riki Rachtman. since our friends had ditched us at the Forum..not a great neighborhood. We didn't even know they were "anybody" til a limo pulled up and people started taking photos of them. A couple of the guys were nice and told us to come see them play. We went straight to the record store to check out their stuff, but the staff kept saying they only had Guns N Roses (who?!! haha), which we'd never heard of and totally ignored, lol. It may have been literally right before they broke huge on MTV. Later we started seeing the GnR guys in the clubs around town...those were fun days in LA. :-)

When they started their band together, they took guns from Tracii’s band and Roses from Axel‘s band and kind of smashed them together… when Tracii left the band, he went back to using the name LA Guns. Now that you have watched November Rain, you really need to watch Don't Cry and Estranged. They are actually a 3-part video storyline, so you kind of need to watch all 3 videos.
